Oh ok. Fair enough!
Can someone explain the promotion bonuses 'thing' to me like I'm a simpleton please. I don't quite get the issue.
As I understand it, for the championship loss calculation promotion bonuses are added back
For the Prem loss calculation they aren't.
So if we were in the championship our losses for 2022 would be £20m less

Apparently they only told us this in June. I presume it wasn't common knowledge
A simple example of how the scheme is designed to shaft promoted teams.
Yes and no. They are an outgoing and the rules are supposed to be about controlling outgoings. If you start allowing certain bonuses to be excluded then… well we know where that goes.
Where it’s unfair is that you’re given lower FFP limits for championship years.. so promotion bonuses get caught in a bit of a limbo. They are part of your costs as a championship club, but only paid out if you go up.. yet you don’t get any extra allowance with which to fund them.
It isn't the rules per se that are designed to do this, it is the Premier League. The rules try to fix a problem created by the Premier League, albeit badly. The rules we want, or lack of them, would be designed to let us wade in but others like Luton be completely locked out. The Premier League is the issue here and however It operates its vast wealth is likely to be a poor solution to that core problem
Funniest comment by one guy about how Chris Wood is NZ 's top scorer ever, so he must be good.
I've watched the second and third highest scorers play and you already guessed about how good they aren't.
I don't know, Vaughan Coveny was a Newcastle Jets legend back in the day.
Yes, he was good for the A League, as was Smeltz.
Joe Lolley looks like Zico though, and the league is much better these days.
Are you on that podcast again?
Yes, 'fraid so.
Good stuff again. I don't think you are negative, fwiw.
Good to see the Anderson measure of value being reused in an Anthony/CHO comparison.
I don't think I'm negative either, but because a lot of my opinions don't sit easily with what we are right now people seem to think I don't like the club and am doing it down, at least in the less nuanced corners of the internet, whereas I tend to think I'm trying to build it up.
