So Arsher Ali has launched his podcast, which I was all set to ignore until I see it features Nick Miller and Matt Davies-Adams who are both excellent.
Nice to have choices, but there's no way these can or should all succeed.

I don't really have an interest in listening to all these other peoples opinions...but if any of them actually talk about football I might give their podcast a go.

I've completely given up on Forest Focus for aforementioned reasons, I might try this one instead but Ali might prove to be too annoying.

It's a pretty glaring weakest link.

I cut Arsher Ali plenty of slack because of Four Lions

To his credit, he's absolutely doing the work on this podcast.

The shiny club podcast has Earnshaw, the pro one has McGugan, but this has got the best host combo. This would be my first choice for now, at least.

Also - Garibaldi Gazette has the most annoying intermezzo (or whatever) music. Sounds like the pause music from an old FIFA game or something

Garibaldi Gazette has added Daniel Storey to their roster. Starting to look like the best line-up but putting it out today when they have to apologise for not knowing the Bristol City result seems unfortunate.

Edit - I say apologise but really they just joke about it.

It would be if they kept it at that, but I fear Arsher will be back.

It's very much his show, he brought the gang back together.

In the original Garibaldi Red, (almost) everyone had a "professional" role that gave them at least some insider expertise about something rather than just being a fan.

Temps has a role at Notts CC and can talk about pro sports people. Greg has a role in Forza Garibaldi. Emily is a BBC journalist (although never really made much of it). Birtles, McGugan, Prutts, Fletcher, David Jackson etc all are ex-pro or media types.

The thing that gets me now about Forest Focus is that the extra episodes are filled with lots of "my mate, Dave" types who offer exactly the same perspective of any other fan drawn from the same observations of the games. I don't really need to listen to a podcast to know MGW is important to our team or that Nuno is going to have a choice to make between Omabamidele and Niakhate at the back.

I am being more selective with them now. Some are still good, but I avoid the fan only ones (although I don't mind the Fantasy Football bloke).

Which is why I suspect most of us don’t listen to very episode, I was selective beforehand I’m even more so now.

A warning for anyone considering listening to the latest Garibaldi Gazette. No Nick Miller and there’s a point about halfway through where Arsher Ali interviews his six year old daughter….

…which was exactly the shark-jumping moment when I decided I had better uses for my ears
