You rather get the feeling, now that we are in the 'ship, that the forest podcast community are trying to fill the vacuum created by the exponentially expanding bandwidth of interest, with more vacuum.

No disrespect intended Steve. There's just a lot of kidz out there, determined to have their opinionz heard. And monetise it.

You've got lots of opinions, have you considered monetising them?

I realise it’s probably a generational thing but I thought Prutton’s tribute to Larry Lloyd, who he barely knew, was more personal and, in a way, more affecting than Birtles, who must have spent thousands of hours with him.

Birtles is pretty bloody useless on that podcast though, unless you're after a Cloughie reminiscence.

The remorseless pursuit of money is so vulgar, don't you think?

It's fucking boring I know that, you wouldn't like it.

I listened to the first episode Wor Steve did on Gazette. I quite enjoyed it, there was much less Ali than I feared and the others were all quite good. And the music is ace, it's some kind of late 90s club tune that I almist recognise.

He's such a rambling old buffoon, sharing every thought that's in his head in no particular order.

We should definitely get him on here then. He'd fit right in and love it.

One of my football friends lived next to him until a few years ago, and another one two doors down. Think Gary is still there. They are not. Years ago he lived with a football friend after his divorce.

Never spoken to him. Unlike Emlyn Hughes.

    They are interviewing Rick Parfitt

    I couldn't listen to much

The previous one with Birtles and Fletcher discussing the fallout from Everton was a solid but not classic one for players of Birtles bingo. I had:

"We were cheated out of a European final against Anderlecht"
"Brian Clough always used to say ...."
A plea for a settled team combined with a plea to switch to a back 3
"If there's a doubt over a player, just ask him to give you as long as he can"

    Nothing this time on:

When I played as a centre half
Moaning about zonal marking vs man-to-man.

All the podcasts seem to have someone saying this. At least Clapson seemed to realise how ridiculous this sounded.

To be honest I am surprised we've not tried a back 3 in the last 5-6 games. Now? It's a bit late I guess. Who knows.
