I don't like to listen to forest podcasts, I have decided. So I am quite outside the target audience. I made the effort though. Quite enjoyed your contribution. Largely because it was quite close to an articulate and measured version of my views (something I am not equipped to provide). Listening to other people being self-absorbed, and focussing on things that I'm not really minded to view that way, was less to my taste. Didn't really feel like there was enough in it for nearly an hours running time.

Definitely prefer an hour talking forest in the pub on tuesdays and thursdays, even if that is quite a bit like groundhog day. Will probably go back to not listening to forest podcasts now.

I sometimes get to sit in the pub and talk Forest WITH STEVE, thereby getting all the good podcasty stuff while also drinking beer. Living the dream in Southwell.

I don't play football in southwell, charlie, so that's no use to me. Fucksake, talk about tone death.

(we do often go to that railway station pub nowhere near a railway line. More a summer thing. Doesn't seem to have been any summer any time recently).

My pub football chat is with a Newcastle fan, a Liverpool fan, a Man U fan and a Chelsea fan.

So we talk about things other than football.

I don't think I knowingly converse with any Liverpool fan.

My Chesterfield chiropractor is a Liverpoo fan. The last time I saw him was just before their spawny fucking 1-0 win. That's not why that was the last time I saw him.

It's different here. Not so many Scousers.

The old ways are often the best and pub football chat is definitely one of those. It's a bit of fun though on occasion, especially as I don't see that crowd as much as I used to.

The Whistle is a fine place for both beer and chat (and cheese).

The official podcast had a really good interview analysing the points deduction. Made me think the appeal might be worth trying, especially if we could somehow claw back the promotion bonuses and covid losses to mitigate for this year.

Oh I thought they'd stopped that. It fizzled out after a few episodes (and I unsubscribed a month or so ago after ages without an episode)

There's some merit in making next years number as small as possible. That's not going to have any impact on us breaching this year.

The rules for the next accounting period may well be different.

Assume you mean the latest Garibaldi Red podcast. I listened to that and it made me think the same. But I don't think it's in any way an "official" podcast though.

It did sound like they should have combined the Covid and bonus mitigation with the Brennan one - you only told us on 2nd June that we had this big problem, which then meant we had no option but to sell him and meant we couldn’t market him during the season, so it took time to sort. It’s not really true but does push some blame onto the PL.

20M promotion bonuses not counting as a loss should make quite a difference on this year's numbers
