Have confirmed it as working from outside my local network, and with non-logged in credentials. Have checked that you have the correct permissions. Have you checked the correct link form?

I just tried to add the Stream to VLC and it seems to have worked but all I hear is static.

It was set on DAB...and the signal for that this morning is borked. I've switched it to FM, and you should be hearing it now. It might be subject to interference, as I am currently descaling my coffee machine quite close to it.

Yes you need permission. Don't know if you have it. Then you have to properly constitute the URL with password and username. The password I don't know. There is a thread that says how it works. Somewhere round here.
