He's only got a year left on his deal. I guess he didn't show any sign of intending to sign a new one.

I think I'd still take the gamble on losing him for nothing vs selling my already meagre chances of staying up for a few million quid.

Man U have turned down 60M from West Ham for Maguire and McTominay. I feel like at this point clubs are just turning down West Ham bids for the meme value, I don't see how those two are worth more than that.
