Real offered 20M to complete the TAA transfer now vs signing him for free in the summer, and Liverpool turned it down.
They're fucking scared of us.

Can't decide whether that's a good decision or not. I guess it could make the difference to them winning the title so probably not worth it. Though you've got to question whether his heart will be fully in it for the rest of the season. If they're top of the league it probably will. But can't see him going in for any crazy tackles.

Have we ever seen that? Not really his thing. He will want to win the league, and the European thing. It's a big loss for the 'ship, in my view.

Though just reading how the real Madrid right back is out for the season, so he'd likely walk straight into the team. Probably have a la liga title within 6 months. So might be tempted.

I can't see that happening. They'll wait till the summer and get him on a free. But theoretically ... Our negotiating position is awful. Be surprised if we got £10m.

The difference being that TAA can sign a pre contract with Real tomorrow, but City can't sign Aina until July 1st. So we have the rest of the season to convince him to stay, while Liverpool can officially and irrevocably lose TAA a few hours from now.
