Maybe not. There's a degree of team unbuilding going on in the middle ranks of the 'ship. To rationalise squads at the more young/sustainable end of the spectrum, rather than the most balanced best team possible at the spending level. Largely because breaking into the top end is unachievable for many teams. And relegation remains highly unlikely. Brighton being the model.

Cash in on breakout talents, keep broadly the same turnover.

Leicester are paying Palace 8M for 32 year old Jordan Ayew. SSC really does love the Ayew family.

Apparently the investment group that are causing this chaos at Lyon also own 45% of Palace and have made an offer to buy the other 55%, but have also indicated that if the other shareholders say no then they'll sell their stake and buy Everton instead. These guys sound bonkers.

Southampton have allegedly offered 15M for this guy.

The Corinthians fans online are saying that no matter how bad you think he is he's actually worse, and the idea that anyone would offer anything for him is absolutely hilarious. So I hope it's true.

Maybe he’s relegated to George Weah?

According to Fav the Evs have asked about taking Mangala on loan.

What an odd transfer that was for OL…

I would rather he didn't go to Everton.

Although the way they play the ball it would be sailing over his head anyway.

Ipswich now looking at Edouard of Palace. They appear to be doing much the same as we did when we got promoted.

  • trickylens

Not really. Edouard has previous 'ship experience. Ipswidge are starting with at least a broadly functional established team.

Jadon Sancho to Juve, potentially Raheem Sterling to Man U. That seems like a pretty decent upgrade for United.

I don't completely disagree with your mild obsession over experience at the level, but when it is used to paint over the fact that he's shit and not remotely worth 20M it starts to become problematic.

11, so far. We signed 23 that summer, so still some way to go.
