If Leicester get Coady, Winks and Piroe (not sure what I think of the latter but he's scored some goals at that level), their new manager won't have too many excuses if he doesn't get them up.

Kane going to Bayern almost guarantees cups. Kane going to Man United guarantees finishing around Spurs.

Pirlo is a weird one. Cooper loved him at Swansea and there was talk that we would bid for him.

Maybe we have some crackerjacks lined up.

Maybe Adidas will pull one out of the bag for us!

    Chicago: slightly delirious.

That would indeed be weird, given Cooper left Swansea just as Piroe arrived and never actually worked with him.

Let me re-frame my statement. Cooper actively recruited Pirlo for Swansea and liked him as a player. I actually didn’t know that he didn’t manage him. So that part is on me.

    Chicago: Fessing up.

The clock is ticking on a rough decision for him. Drop down a level to try to get a pewter tankard, fail to get to a top club who are challenging for something worthwhile, or stay undercover at spurts and blame them?

It's a tough choice for a world class goalscoring deadlegs, who takes the teams that he plays for nowhere. Perhaps just hang around the back post for a few years, and concentrate on personal glory? The perfect modern stats defying player. Feted by all. Wanted by nobody that really matters.

And we are Premier League whilst Leicester are a shitty Championship club so we need better.

I felt better by hearing Leicester were spending £10m of that on Harry Winks

£105m for Rice seems too much to me.

And £7.5m (at least) on Coady, who Dyche didn't think was worth £4.5m to Everton as a premier league club.

Good baseline for when we sell Danilo for double that next summer.

Burnley are apparently paying £19m for a young Man City goalkeeper who’s never played higher than league 1. Makes whatever we (probably) pay for Henderson seem reasonable.

You'd presume Company has some inside information there, but, yes, securing Henderson for circa £20m in the current market seems good value.

I imagine Hendersons wages to be significantly greater than the City Yoof.

United also close to signing a Japanese keeper, presumably as the number 2 to Onana.
