It's easy to play well when you're 5-2 down and have nothing to lose in a Cup situation. Not so easy when a defeat puts you withing spitting distance of relegation.

Classic "keep it tight for the first 20 and make the crowd edgy" situation. So expect them to be 2 up inside 10 minutes.

It is always the exception that proves the rule. Hat-trick on his first game back.

Actually I would favour the opposite as I think they will be edgy and if we go for it and get an early goal could be all over.

Watching on demand TV, whenever I pause there's a splash promo for the upcoming World Cup with a huge picture of Chris Wood and it makes me sad every single time.

We were. But keeps happening doesn't it.

Luck always seems to run against you when you're off form. When I play snooker in the league if I'm not playing well then the white goes in off more often, I fail to get position because of an unlucky cannon, and there's always a gap when I try and snooker an opponent.

When my confidence is up, every shot seems to come out nearly the way I played it (I say nearly, because if it came off exactly every shot then I'd be getting century breaks).

As we struggle to score goals, so players feel the pressure and make mistakes rendering the scoring of goals less likely. In situations where leathering the ball may lead to a goal, or at least create a good opportunity, players second guess themselves and look for a possible better option. Hesitancy gives rise to fewer good chances as opponents snuff us out.

I see Nico O’Reilly had another storming game. Unfortunately he plays for Pep who is a total cunt. Maybe the man’s head will explode before the end of the season.

    Chicago: looking for positives.
