I've only seen a picture so remain confused about how the ref got into that position.

He knew they would do the huddle around the ball, so stood on it and wouldn’t move. What an attention seeking moron.

Depending on who is kicking off, refs are told to protect the ball in such cases. Chelsea should have just done it a couple of yards away.

It's deliberately twattish behaviour though. Rather than do a huddle in your own half, like normal people, they are asserting their dominance over the pitch by doing it on the centre spot.

    Protect the ball from what?!

The whole point of it for them is to dominate the ball so they can hardly move elsewhere.

I care little about it, but for me the ref was just being a berk. As most of them are.

Cucurella should be booked before kick off of every match as a pre-emptive measure.

Protect the ball from the nasty men kicking it? Luckily there are five thousand backup balls, only protected by a little boy on a little camping chair, eyeing it from a distance of five yards, while it's tee'd up on a peg.

It's remarkable that we ever manage to get a game going without these heroic referees protecting the ball until kickoff.

Any Leroy, 'respecting the ball'....oh do fuck off. You're just a poor mans moaninho.

I remember his dad scoring against us at Upton Park. Might even have got a hat trick , can't be bothered to try and check.

Rosenior senior got the equaliser in a 3-3 draw in the 88/89 season at Upton Park as Forest blew a 3-1 lead.

I saw a thing earlier that said the only available player in the Bayern squad with senior goalkeeping experience is Harry Kane. They should do it for the lolz.

Thanks you I thought that was the game. I went with a mate from Uni who lived in the east end. Stood behind the goal with him in the West ham end.

Completely skew football for all time, by financially doping the game, using the mechanism of illegal payments, and change forever the fortunes of the club to the detriment of all competing English clubs. What could be fairer than a fine less than 1% of the current squad cost?

Swindle Town are very sad indeed.

He was injured/shir for the first 12-18 months of being there. But Brentford properly develop players and give them time.
