I wouldn't mind...but it's not like they even play 90 minutes as it is. The players keep sitting down, and the ref keeps chatting to their mates in the cupboard, and watching the telly.
They've shored up their defence somewhat, although how good the reinforcements are I don't know, but they have lost McGoaldrought and Knight and are struggling to sign reinforcements in the front 5/6 - they just re-signed Martyn Waghorn, who isn't very good, and they've missed out on a whole bunch of players they've been linked with. Current rumour is that they want Billy Sharp and Jordan Rhodes, but they're expensive, old, and in Sharp's case are on record as not liking Derby and their fans. Their big ticket midfield signing last year in Hourihane has apparently been disappointing.
DCFC timeline is funny. They're saying from his interview that he's lost the changing room already. Cashin and Bird both want out or something along those lines.
He said something in his interview about some players having their heads turned. Blackpool made 8 changes from the team that started in the league on the weekend and apparently they absolutely played Derby off the park in the first half. Warne took Hourihane (the captain), Bradley (their marquee signing of the summer) and Wilson (who they got from Bristol City in the deal for Knight) off at half time.
I know I shouldn't care about a club whose best player wouldn't raise enough money to buy our worst player's used boots, but it's still fucking funny to watch them scrabbling around down in the lower leagues.
I have had dealings with a member of the current Derby staff. He's a very good guy. He's worked with some of my football friends. I know that he's had a difficult time, and I'm very happy that he's involved in football, and earning a living.
