    But wouldn't that mean we still get the Europa?

    But 5.01c (which seems to be the relevant clause) says this:

    Quoted message:

    No individual or legal entity may have control or influence over more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition, such control or influence being defined in this context as:
    i. holding a majority of the shareholders’ voting rights;
    ii. having the right to appoint or remove a majority of the members of the administrative, management or supervisory body of the club;
    iii. being a shareholder and alone controlling a majority of the shareholders’ voting rights pursuant to an agreement entered into with other shareholders of the club; or
    iv. being able to exercise by any means a decisive influence in the decision-making of the club.

    None of those apply to Textor at Palace, do they? (Depending on what "decisive" means in the final clause.) He owns 43% of the shares but only 25% of the voting rights.

    It really would be utter bs if Palace lost their spot, even if we were to benefit.

    Seven and SWT like this.

    Isn't it this clause?

    No one may simultaneously be involved, either directly or indirectly, in any capacity whatsoever in the management, administration and/or sporting performance of more than one club participating in a UEFA club competition.

    FWIW - I think it is ridiculous that putting shares into a blind trust gets round it.

    But I would say that by the letter of the law it would be hard to argue that holding over 40% of the shares (and being the largest single shareholder), sitting on the board and having voting rights doesn't constitute being involved in the management (at the cut off date)

    BBC reporting that decision won't be until end of the month. Bonkers and unfair to both Palace and us because Europa or not will impact player sales and purchases.

    Not sure it will particularly impact our transfer strategy.

    It may impact on whether players chose to come here or somewhere else?

    If it was between Champions League and UEFA Cup then maybe, but I'm not convinced that UEFA Cup v Conference is such a big deal for players.

    Isn't the draw in two weeks?

    Only qualifying rounds, I think. But bizarre a competition could start with still some dispute about who's going to be in it.

    I think it's the actual Europa cup draw on 17th.

    It would be hilarious if we ended up winning a competition we didn’t qualify for.

    Are Anderlecht in it at all? 42 years later...

    Second qualifying round. So they'd need to win three ties to get into the group stage Palace have already got into.

    Would we actually benefit from Palace being chucked out or is just presumption?

    If the relevant draw occurs before the verdict surely they'll just give Palace's opponents a bye and leave us where we are?
