Uh, if you say so? I'll be honest, I have no clue who plays for either side, where they are in the league, who manages them, or anything else about the match. I suppose I should probably swot up a bit as she's quite a big football fan.
Obviously I know who they are. I couldn't have told you if they were still at those clubs though.
Anyway, they are but Laryea is out injured, Surridge is expected to start. Robin Fraser's TFC (no, me neither) haven't been great this season but did give Montreal a 6-1 spanking last weekend and are boosted by the likely return of club captain Jonathan Osorio. BJ Callaghan's Nashvile (also no) have fared a little better so far this season than TFC but haven't been great away from home, and may be a little weary after their 3-2 win in the US Cup on Wednesday.
If the 'mericans are employing completely made up name managers, they should give that lad from notts a job. Sharpish...to save him having to go back on the tools.
I’m largely indifferent and I’ve never heard anybody really talk about them either.
That program was boring and repetitive though - probably perfect for the US market but absolute yawnsville for us.
Got through about 5 eps before I had to bin it.
I’ve watched the documentaries and wish them nothing but good luck. The owners are decent enough and have really got involved in the community. Any club who was in their position would be ecstatic to have them.
She's nominally a TFC supporter but her real team is some French outfit. Can't remember who but it doesn't really matter as the French league is basically just PSG and then a bunch of other teams no one cares about. I have actually told her this before.
It's funny because the online vitriol from English fans about how they've been bankrolled to multiple promotions and don't deserve to be where they are does somewhat overlook the fact that as foreign owners go, Reynolds and McElhenney are right up there as about the most likeable and decent ones there are, their motives are absolutely clear and by football standards pure, and the money that has been poured into the club has been from legitimate sponsorship and commercial efforts that just happen to be orders of magnitude better than their peers due to the profiles and connections of said owners.
Putting aside my well established views on Welsh teams in the English leagues, I think the main problem is the legions of dumb Americans who have latched onto the team and now sites like Reddit are full of Brad, 15, lifelong Wrexham fan from Idaho talking about how they should probably sign Jack Grealish this summer because it's what he did in FIFA25 and he won promotion with 120 points.
