'Goal involvement' is a thing, apparently.

Has this been invented so we've still all got something City / Haaland related to tug ourselves raw over?

    A thing.

I learnt on MOTD that Ian Woan is our current record holder, adding weight to the argument he should've been in the Euro96 squad, what with Stone being there.

    Assists are bullshit, though.

Agreed have always thought this, the last pass is sometimes the key one but very often isn't.

Haven't bothered with fantasy football for years now (since I won the work 'proper' one with an auction night etc for the Premier League and the Euros that followed in the summer, I retired. Probably 15 years ago)..

If you stamp on a players thigh while they are on the floor as a result of a challenge you have made from behind, VAR has ruled that it's not above the threshold that they would interfere.

Pretty sure this only applies if you are a player for one of the billionaire branded clubs. You'd definitely be sent off if you just played for wolves, or some such.

I reckon Fofana should have had about five yellows and a red, for his challenges. He has attracted none (zero). One yellow for throwing the ball away.

Weekend of pretty much perfect results for us. Plenty of time to catch Arsenal too.

12 points from 9 games, probably fewer.

On balance, I suppose Chelsea losing is the better result for us.

    Fulham v Spurs result, meh.

Meanwhile a Cup Final between Scousers and Best Fans in the World Petrostate FC. Ugh.

Figure Newcastle losing another final is the funniest outcome. Liverpool must be bored of winning league cups, it's hardly going to register.

Petrostate right back clearly handles the ball. Arm outstretched palms it away from the attacker with his open hand. "We wouldn't like to see those given", VAR doesn't intervene.

Actually, Gary, I would like to see clear hand balls given. I'd also like to see the offsides given, so that the attacking sides don't get a corner from gaining an advantage by being offside, and other modern clusterfucks arising from the game not being properly officiated.

Weird that itv are taking sky sports' coverage as is, including multiple promotions of future sky presentations.

    All of that is true.
But it’s 2-0 to Newcastle and fuck Liverpool. They’ve been getting the rub of the green all season.

I find the ‘Toon Army’ one of the most insufferable cunts going so would have been happy with a scouse win for once.

I agree re the Toon Army however it’s ABL for me. I think I’d even take Derby over the Scouse.
