I was about to, but for some reason I suddenly feel inexplicably devoid of confidence.

Is it concerning you watching a relegation rival likely picking up points?

You know I’m not going to publicly accept safety until MC.

Our current points total is enough to have avoided relegation in 2 of the last 5 seasons. The magic number these days is 35; only twice in the last decade would that not have been enough to keep you up.

We may not have mathematical certainty yet, but I would argue that we do have overwhelming probability and as such it's reasonable to start caring more about the teams around us than the teams 12+ places below us.

Opta have us at 0.02% likelihood of relegation (for reference, they have us a 50x more likely to qualify for the Champions League). Whilst I’m obviously not used to seeing these sort of probabilities, I am definitely much more relaxed. More than I have been for ~30 years. Hence, I’m happy Brighton lost and looked pretty average, especially in the first half. A draw in Manchester would be good and hoping Chelsea put Brentford away.

I think after the last two weeks, we can be confident but we shouldn’t be complacent and fully anticipate a hard time at Gtech next Saturday. I will also be happier when the relegation fight settles down to ~5/6 teams so long as it involves Leicester…

Amorim dropped Rashford and Garnacho from the squad completely. Bold move.

On the eye test, an exactly correct football decision. Now, what about this Harry Kane geezer?

I think this last post from Shady was devoid of confidence. Very lazy. No finesse. Let’s hope the lad gets back to his turnstile jumping best when we need him.

    Chicago: Supportive.

Garnacho is always dangerous, rumour is that he's been leaking squads to the press. Rashford has been in woeful form, his rumour is that he's been living the nightlife a bit too much.

As for Harry, Tuchel has confirmed that he will continue as England captain.

I like amorim. He is very eloquent and was very honest that he didn’t think the two players were good in training and squad interaction.

And yes I think a sneaky loan move for Rashford to play with his mates at Forest would be ace. I never said I was Marcus Rationale.

Chicago: About to watch a massacre.

Like Villa, Brentford have a game in midweek, a league cup quarter final at Newcastle which I imagine they will be very keen to focus on. Could be good for us.

Citeh have scored against the run of play when they have generally been rubbish. Now it looks like a melee could end up with a red card. Although Walker was completely faking it.

    Chicago: Amused.

Haaland rag dolled one off the manure defenders to disposes him, with an (entirely legitimate) shoulder charge. Pulled up for a foul. Hojland has been wrapping his arms around him and holding him down (not legitimate), at set pieces. No fouls given for that yet.
