So, does that mean they’ve gotten away with it?

Seems so. Can you give us the idiots version of what they did, what the rules were meant to do, and how they've cheated them please? I need it to post in a mates Whatsapp group.

Seems they got off on a technicality, they were charged when in the EFL.

They broke the £105m limit for spending over three years.

As far as I can tell, the Premier league can't punish them because they were relegated and therefore not under their jurisdiction at the end of the three year period. It's a fuckup in how the rules are written, combined with leicester being so shit they managed to get relegated despite overspending.

Teams that weren't in the Premier league at all for 2 of the three seasons, as we know, can be punished.

Can't the PL just charge them again now? Say oh right. We weren't allowed to charge you at the time? Ok. We'll do it now.

Remember how Everton kept banging on about double jeopardy when it clearly wasn’t? Charging Leicester again for the same offence would be.

Some seem to think the cunts may still be facing one charge rather than two. But that may be wishful thinking.

But isn't the point that they weren't actually charged? I mean it's semantics, but.

I despair at how badly FFP/PSR rules have been written and enforced over the years. The amount of money that the PL can spend on lawyers and it and seems pretty much everything is bendable and poorly done. Basic things like the time between accounting periods ending and charges being brought for example has only been refined in the last year or two, yet any old fool could see that was going to be a problem and should have been set at the start.

I'm often not quite as cynical as some in terms of the PL being corrupt and these things being left vague so as to serve the self interests of the rich, but it's hard not to think it's a stitch up

    From your link:

The Foxes were charged by the Premier League for breaching spending rules. They appealed against this charge but an independent commission then ruled the top flight could take action.

Doesn’t seem to be the case having read Percy’s article. Possible appeal from PL and EFL may look at something but it looks as if the original cheating bastards have got away with it. Again. What a bunch of cunts.

Breached PSR. But eventually got relegated anyway. So that's alright then.

    Or something.

They'll just have to get relegated the old fashioned way then.

I’ll look up the relevant bits tomorrow but part of the reason for our appeal being rejected was that they said it wasn’t a legal process and they weren’t interested in his nitpicking over the wording of the original decision.
