I'm convinced it is vent. Not in a reds getting brown paper bags full of money way, but rules interpretations and VAR being used to judge the overarching story arc in the desired direction.

Today’s decision was about bad law rather than bad application - refs have been told to give those all season.
The Maguire one was pure top 6 favouritism. Nothing more, nothing less.
