It would take a thick twat to go in and immediately soil the bed at their new home. As I observed when he joined us....SSC is a very modern marketing manager. Which i did not mean in any way disparagingly.

Leaders of football clubs need to manage a lot of things. I wish we had leader(s) at our club with such a wide range of competencies. Or maybe even some.

I get about saying all the right things. Everyone does. But most managers don’t write a lengthy boring letter. More likely set up by the club to try and get the unhappy fans on board.

Maybe the judgment is that trotting out the normal trite signalling isn't enough. Taking the time to do something out of the ordinary, even a bit cringy to some, demonstrates an understanding of the situation and a willingness to be here in the present. Inviting the fan base along to that.

Remember, you are not the target market (although not having seen the letter, what I have heard reported does not suggest that he touches on his time with us, either to diminish or address in any way).

I'm not sure "well they all say that" is going to move the dial much. SSC is very good at this stuff....and other stuff.

As a side their equivalent of forza are also up in arms at the club about of number of things including not being interested in safe standing, match day prices rises of up to 38% and being charged £25 for the actual season card.

I know it’s hard for some to believe but it’s not just forest who get things wrong at times.

I agree with you, he was excellent at his comms. Evident by a lot of hysterical fans not seeing any weakness in him and him staying here far longer than he should. Not sure Leicester fans are quite as easily taken in.

Their forum is about breaking at the rage but one quote recognises what I’m getting at:

“The difference in the efforts the club went to announcing Enzo in comparison to Cooper speaks volumes. This is what happens when you spread a man as inept as Jon Rudkin over your 2 football clubs and your horse racing business. Zero time spent on succession planning.”

Interesting line that Arsenal have lost interest in Big Dog Toney. Apparently Arsenal representatives met him and his advisers but just didn’t like him.
Can see why Arteta thought he might not be a good fit for their dressing room.
