They are also arguing that London clubs have more opportunity to make money than those further north, and that the rules are weighted towards established wealthy clubs and, well, that's not exactly wrong.

Self-serving, no doubt, but it's a more interesting case than I was expecting.

Kick then out for being money doping cunts anyway…

The premier league is the most uncompetitive league in the world because new clubs that qualify generally have no chance thanks to cheating twats like these… (and other stuff….)

    Chicago: Wanting blood.

....I've heard this reported as one of their points being that middle eastern clubs are being discriminated against. You what? Nobody seems to have raised any form of surprise to this particular terminology.

If you consider the word "sponsor" literally, they aren't wrong. Sponsors should be allowed to determine how much support they want to give.

Are "sponsors" legally sponsors, or are they buying advertising space?

If this is successful I wonder if we will have some big sponsorship deals with Greek TV stations and newspapers

Media outlets reporting Cooper edging nearer to Leicester after talks (let’s be honest, it was only ever going to be them in the PL who were interested as he’s cheap).

The Leicester fans meltdown is glorious.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 9:43 a.m.

Let's hope we can run with Agent Cooper themes all season.

Unfortunately, I think he could do well there. His problem will be that he'll need to hit the ground running as their fans won't be patient with him because of his Forest success.

I wish him no ill will, but do hope he's spending Christmas with his trotters up in front of the fire, settlement cash burning a hole in his Paul Smith chinos, and Lestoh points adrift at the bottom.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 9:52 a.m.

Those who don’t live or work in Leicestershire will never fully appreciate how much they hate us. Some prefer a forest loss to a Leicester win.

He would be starting so far on the back foot he wouldn’t have much leeway at all. Obviously football fans are fickle and if he gets results they will get on board for as long as they are winning but look how quickly they turned on Ranieri and Rodgers who brought them silverware they could only dream of.

Your politics my be crackers but you always hit the nail on the head with this subject. On and off I had about 10 years working in Loughborough and it's the impenetrable smugness I could never understand, you just don't get that with Derby folk, even the really thick ones.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 9:57 a.m.

Yep, and the 'Stevie Cooper' chant will still work if he's in charge and they're really struggling. Also, digging out clips of him staying how special a club Forest is would have Lestoh fans properly frothing at the mouth.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 9:58 a.m.

It would be an interesting one. Complete change in playing style from Maresca, who had 60% possession last season, but that probably makes sense after what happened to Burnley.

He still has a reputation for bringing through youth players, which isn't justified by what happened here and I can't imagine there's too many chances for him to go back to that under 17 England team again as they are all 23 or 24 and either established or probably not going to make it at this level (unless they want to pay big money for Panzo). Smith-Rowe maybe but he'd be expensive.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 10:23 a.m.

He's going to find it pretty hard to run the "it's a special club, with special fans" script again.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 10:43 a.m.

"This place is a shit hole and those clappers do my nut but here now so lets give it a go, but as Nottingham is much nicer i'll still kip there, cheers, you bunch of cunts. SSC COYRs"

  • 6 Jun 2024, 11:06 a.m.

As a very modern marketing manager SSC will run a good play. It's an interesting thought experiment become real (to see how he does, against how we do). We didn't want him as a coach, and have done better, so we should be delighted that he's gone to a local rival to drag them down.

  • 6 Jun 2024, 11:18 a.m.

They got behind Wes Morgan pretty quickly to be fair.

Most of the Leicester fans I spoke to last night (3 seperate groups unfortunately) were fairly unenthused about Cooper, but not raging. It's weird, nobody seems arsed about the current manager leaving either. They're all resigned to a huge points deduction and going back down.

I don't think he's the right appointment for them (other than the fact he's unemployed and they're brassic), I don't see why he'd be the right sort of manager for a club that will start the season as a relegation favourite. I'd be going for Moyes if I was Top.
