Not close to it at all, but that seems a surprise about Loughborough

If Burnley or Luton survive, they will be one of the worst teams ever to avoid relegation.
If Forest make it, we won't be one of the worst, but we will be the weirdest, or maybe stupidest.

I had no idea they still existed. Or is this some sort of a 'pheonix' (of a pheonix) club?

Yeah it’s AFC, but the same supporters etc. from next season they are ground sharing in Wellingborough. It seems they’ve been a mess since the funding stopped nearly 15 years ago.

They just showed the VAR ref onscreen for the disallowed Spurs goal. Is that new?

I seem to recall Harty being there at one point as well. Unless I'm making that up.

I know that part of the world quite having traversed it many times in a previous life. Also used to stay at Welly a fair bit in another previous life. It was at the Hilton just off (of) the M1 where my Harlequins egg chucking team anecdote happened.

Tricky made a rare away day appearance at a preseason game v Rushden & Diamonds, and we marveled at the greatest that New Zealand had to offer in the form of David Tarka. It was like watching a man discover football for the first time, except from the vantage point of being a starting centre-half.

Tarka is an Aussie as far as I recall.

Huh, you're right. All this time I've been blaming Mangetout and it was Todd's fault all along.

It’s strange how everyone is going mental (pundits) on how impotent VAR is over the kulaseski fall and the Arsenal second goal. Now Oliver has been called over to check for a penalty and it is given.

Funny how none of that happened last week… big club bias is real. It actually was a penalty so right decision at last.

    Chicago: Armchair bandit.

Rice missed the ball and walloped Davies in the spuds. Oliver was about 3 yards away looking directly at it. How he needed VAR to alert him I'll never know.

Actually I do know - refs don't bother making decisions anymore, expecting VAR to do it for them.

I'm quite darkly enjoying the perception that Sheffield United will try extra hard against us, like they've been giving only 50% when they had an outside chance of survival. I get they might relax and play a bit better, but it's not going to be an effort thing.

That is a brilliant piss take. Before trolling became such a piece of piss for pete on social media, top class scoundrels used to yank peoples chains in real life this effectively. Repetition is a key component to humour. As is exaggeration. Some people are only ever going to mistake Alf Garnett for a class warrior, and not see such things as the parody they are. The jokes on them.

    I think.

    More fun in Greece yesterday..

"AEK coach Matias Almeyda attempted to fight multiple people and choked an official of the Sub-Directorate of Sports Violence Prevention (DEAV)."

So he choked someone, simultaneously proving that said someone is no good at their job (violence prevention). Genius!
