One of the absolute worst regulars where I worked was a Leeds fan and would kick off with no provocation whatsoever. Caused me no end of grief in the bar. For that alone I hope they go down. I’d have let him know how I felt but he was the type that would wear it as a badge of honour. Deeply unpleasant person.**
Losing Bamford in the first half to yet another injury didn't help them, but as I saw someone point out yesterday, Bamford has one more goal in two seasons than Taiwo has in three games. They spent 35M on Georginio Rutter who has 11 goals in 61 senior games. They're a genuinely terrible squad for this level, I don't think there's a single player in their team today who would get in our first XI.
Phil Jones has announced he's leaving Man U. Has never made more than 29 league appearances in a season and over his 14 year career has averaged 15 league games a year. Played a total of 6 in the last 4 seasons.
He's a good player but I'm mentioning his horrendous injury record before anyone thinks to suggest him in the transfers thread.
Sheffield United apparently have £20m to spend this summer. Heckingbottom is a deeply mediocre manager. And they have the memory of getting 23 points last time they were at this level. Feeling pretty happy about their chances at the moment.
Are they not in the process of being sold? Presumably any current budget is purely based on the standard principle of any other business being sold, and not taking on anything other than absolutely essential expenditure.
I don’t need to drop anybody. Someone will get injured after a couple of games and he’ll be in for a couple himself until he gets knee knack and promptly makes way for Phil Jones
Well, OK but my original statement was "I don't think there's a single player in their team today who would get in our first XI", and you asked what about Harrison. So in this hypothetical thing, you kinda do need to drop someone.
