Given how Morgan was limping around in the last ten minutes, it might be a good thing that we get an extended break from league football. It will probably also be good for Nuno to get some time on the training field with the squad, he's had 3 games in charge and he only took over 11 days ago.
I only caught the last 20 minutes (from 2-1 to Derby) and Posh were miles the better side. Really enjoyed the two late goals - unmarked header from one of the smallest players on the pitch for the first, and then three Derby defenders challenge the same ball eight yards out and it falls to the striker for a neat finish. Wonderful stuff. Happy New Year, you sheep-shagging twats.
As an indication of where Sheffield United are at relative to everyone else in the league, the Athletic has a story today of the best players in the bottom half. It features a player from each club, and the names you would expect are there: Morgan Gibbs-White, Dominic Solanke, Ivan Toney, Joao Palhinha, Michael Olise and so on. Properly good players who would grace teams much higher up the table.
Just on the whole PL charges against Everton, City and possibly us. There's going to be a stupid situation occur where we might be charged, found guilty, and a points punishment dished out all within a few months period - compared to city who were charged almost 12 months ago and there is still no progress or end in sight.
TBF, City's case is much bigger and more complex, in theory at least will lead to much bigger sanctions than anything we could face, and will quite possibly end up in big boy court. Ours is being examined under the new fast track system and will be a much simpler and cleaner process.
