Cardiff have settled the civil case over Emiliano Sala, bringing the matter finally to a legal end.

Apparently Sheffield United were timewasting horrifically for most of the game today, and Spurs scoring twice in a lot of stoppage time was absolutely deserved.

Holy shit Heckingbottom has actually lost the plot. This is worth watching.

His complaint is literally "Spurs are stopping us playing how we want to play so what else are we supposed to do except time waste?" How about maybe have a plan B, Paul?

Derby took the lead at home v Pompey in the 86th minute, and conceded an equaliser in the 95th. Currently 11th - 5 places, 3 points and 7 goals out of the playoffs.

Despite him being a massive cunt, I do have a touch of sympathy. Most games this season I've been fearful of our defensive throw in takers (boly, aurier etc) being sent off. We've already had had (IMO) harsh bookings for time wasting where the thrower has not had anyone to throw to quickly.

Just to be clear though, heckingbumface can still fuck off

The ref has basically said to him "your guy's flirting with a second yellow here for timewasting, I'm giving you a warning so you can do something about it and I don't have to send him off", and Yorkshirebottom is complaining about this.

Next time I hope the ref says nothing and just sends the player off. Then he'll probably whine about the ref not giving him a warning.

Amusingly, I don't think it matters of they sack him. Unless they tempt Warnob back, I can't see anyone fixing their absence of talent better than Heckythump.

I'm unsure if this is a niche opinion, I think it probably is, but I don't think he's a bad manager. I think they look better than we did when we came up. We were a bit lucky to beat them. They should have beaten Everton at home. They were unlucky not to get something at Spurs. I've a feeling they might actually stay up, or at least give it a good go, rather than sinking like a trace as many think they will.

I think there’s something in that, but an alternative view would be that they had a better chance than us of hitting the ground running (they lost a couple of important players but are largely a squad used to playing and winning together), they’ve got nothing for their efforts so far and in time injuries, suspensions and the Premier League in general will start to grind them down. Hopefully.

Apparently the Pompey scorer, Colby Bishop, did a Robin Hood archer celebration after scoring, as he’s a Forest fan.

  • 17 Sep 2023, 10:11 a.m.

It's odd that they book someone for timewasting and add ten minutes plus at the end of the game for it. If you waste 30 seconds taking a throw in and gain 30 seconds of extra game time for it, what's the problem?

  • 17 Sep 2023, 10:14 a.m.

It disrupts the flow / pressure that a team might be building.

  • 17 Sep 2023, 10:17 a.m.

Play is continuous....unless the bad decision of the referee needs to be re-refereed, or more likely rubber stamped.

  • 17 Sep 2023, 12:09 p.m.

I think that's partly the thought/pressure of time being wasted in a 90 minute game. In yesterday's 100 minute+ Spurs/Sheff U game, Spurs were patiently racking up the pressure at the end of the game. Take 30 seconds off if you like, lads, it'll just give Spurs a breather as they continue to punish you.

This. Sheffield United have been in the Premier League very recently (see also: Fulham, Bournemouth and Burnley), built a squad for that level across a number of transfer windows and had relegation softened by parachute payments (putting them in a much stronger position to return quickly). Man-for-man they should be miles ahead of where we are at present.

It astonishes me how often this gets overlooked when Forest are being compared with peers.

Calls for Warne's head growing louder which is amusing because, as some of their brighter supporters have pointed out, they're coming out of a recent, near-fatal administration process and will struggle to fire anyone just at the moment. Costs too much money.

Seen one or two wanting Billy Davies to make a return. Given he's been out of football for nearly a decade, brings an expensive entourage with him and is the epitome of a chequebook manager, that sounds like a truly terrible idea for a skint third division club. Fingers crossed and popcorn ready.
