Match of the Day only showed it from afar in real time (i.e. no close-up or replay). They only do that if it’s a nasty one

Dislocated fracture. Not nice. We had one of those on an adjacent pitch a couple of months ago, on a thursday night. One of our lads, a copper, went over to assist. The initial ETA for an ambulance was an hour. The lad would likely have lost his leg by then. Luckily he was a paramedic, and they were able to contact his workmates, who got an ambulance to him in 3 minutes. So he still has a full compliment of limbs.

Ollie Watkins has hit the post in the 104th minute of the game, said my radio.

The ref has failed to control the game satisfactorily, if they are still playing in the 104th minute, says I.

That West Ham/Newcastle game was a cracking game of football. The Sham seem to have improved in leaps and bounds and Newcastle really are almost at the peak of their powers. Mohammed Kudus (my dreamy signing I wanted for us over the summer), scored a tremendous goal with balance and great technique.

Newcastle got a dodgy free kick and from that said kick Isak scored. The ball came to him from a Hammers defender who accidentally headed to him even though he was in an offside position. Correct VAR decision. Hoorah!

Anyway, two excellent teams playing high tempo attacking football. We have a long way to go.

    Chicago: Football fan.

"For me Michael Oliver has completely bottled it."

Sounds like they are at it again, and VAR not correcting clear and obvious errors.

It’s a surprisingly scrappy game this. And as usual, a library atmosphere at the Emirates.

I know the area well. It's close to residential, so they are not allowed to shout there, only occasionally whisper encouragement.

Yes Kovacic should be off… Two yellows easily.

Cannot see everyone staying on the pitch at the end of this.

    Chicago: Ball winner.

So, coming up to the international break, and the first real point of the season where you can reasonably say that the table is starting to be meaningful. Spurts top, and Bayern third in germany.

    Coincidence?

If Spurs finish higher than Munchen I'll officially retire my burning church joke.

Kane missed 2 chances by a whisker today. He did set up Sane for a tap in but he also spent a lot of time loitering beyond the far post when Bayern were in position to cross and Lewandowski would've been in the middle of the 6 yard box to score.

Only trouble is, as regards the point you're trying to make, "deadlegs" Kane is on track to score more than Lewandowski and Haaland did in that league. It's almost as though, hey, he's world class after all and the hobby horse you're riding is only good for the knackers yard.
