The situation at Wednesday is getting worse. The owner has chucked his toys out the pram and said if you're going to protest against me, I'm not putting any more money in:

And now 3-0 down at home to Sunderland after half an hour. Fans streaming out already. Wednesday look miles off the level, before you factor in the off-field drama. Impressed with Sunderland.

Apparently when they did the minute's applause for Maddy Cusack before kick off, all the digital advertising hoardings were displaying Chansiri's name.

My local team, Hereford FC, playing in the Conference North, so 6th tier, have just released their unofficial accounts for last season.

    www.herefordfc.co.uk/hereford-fc-announces-loss-for-2022-23-financial-year/?fbclid=iwar2uchc_fuksl-8pd73tlinfbpjs_wqiht64ru-l0exkebxpza0kn4a2slw has written:

Headline Figures (unaudited) For 2022/23 Financial Year (all figures mentioned are gross)

Turnover – £1,265,000 (approximate breakdown as follows):

    Matchday ticket sales – 23%
    Bars/Hospitality/Room hire – 18%
    Season Ticket sales – 16%
    Sponsorship/Commercial/Shop – 16%
    Donations – 6%
    TV money – 5%
    League income – 3%
    Cup prize money – 2%
    Other – 11%

Expenditure – £1,310,000 (approximate breakdown as follows):

Players, coaching and management costs – 42%
    Bar costs – 14%
    Administrative costs – 13%
Wider football related costs (kit, travel, training facilities, match officials etc) – 12%
    Administrative/Office staff – 8%
    Shop costs – 2%
    Repairs and renewals – 2%
    Other costs – 7%

A £45,000 loss and talk of, should it continue, the club goes under, again.

I think we need some more of those Premierboat billions trickling down. We're talking 3 days of a JLingz salary.

They need to look at their bar prices, they are hardly making any money on that from those percentages.

Quite. It’s a business spending more than it’s earning. Not sure how it’s Jesse Lingard’s fault. If the premier league bunged them £50k a year, they’d just put up wages or lose more on the bar.

Isn't that the same arguement that says if you increase benefits they'll just spend it on fags?

Only if the average person on benefits employed a finance director to look after their money.
