I don't recall Danny Mills playing for that Derby team.

TBF, that's the main joke of the skit.

Did he mention he was only on loan?

You'd hope they were already 3-0 up before trying that stunt

The strike is fantastic, the build up is littered with sloppy passes and touches that if Wolves were pressing properly they could have turned the ball over if you were being picky. I admire the intent though and Ipswich have started the season well with a young progressive coach it looks like from the outside.

Bit of a second team for me on account of them being my uni flatmate's club. I went to Portman Road a few times with him in the late 90s and early 00s. Like to see Ipswich do well and have developed an entirely unnecessary dislike of Norwich as a result.

See also: Blackburn (on account of my other flatmate being a Burnley fan).

It was 0-0, but the guy who shot wide did score the only goal of the game five minutes later.

I went to Portman Road when I was 17, mate had just passed his driving test and got his first car. A Maestro. I’ve no idea why but 3 of us went and camped in Lowestoft the night before and after. We’d got fake ID and that worked a treat in the local bars but what a fucking shit hole.

We were in with the home fans and got hammered but scored a late goal and we cheered, for some reason this angered a few of the inbreds and we got legged out the ground. At fucking Ipswich.

Mates car overheated after in the car park.

    Happy days.

We lived in Ipswich from 81-84 and spent several afternoons at Portman Road during their “glory years” - it probably helped that for one year at primary school my teacher was Elaine Robson, who often gave me a lift to school, if she saw me standing at the bus stop in the morning. Sir Bobby was a very regular visitor at the school and the year Ipswich won the Uefa , our class school trip was to his house where the cup was sat on the dining room table.

Always had a soft spot for Ipswich since my family moved to Suffolk in about 1970. Can't join in the hatred for Norwich though as I went to university there in the 70s and watched them a fair bit, including the 3-3 draw with Forest in our title-winning season (in the away end of course). The same season I went down to Portman Road and saw us win 2-0, where the scorers were, rather bizarrely, Frank Clark who came on as sub and played centre forward, and an own goal by Paul Mariner who was at the time an England striker. We didn't so much cheer the goals as laugh at them.

Brentford continue to be quite rubbish. Awful defending and a bit clueless up front so far v Arsenal.
