The game was a blur. Have still never watched it back and still remember the walk back to the station being one of pure devastation.

We drove back to London. As we sat in Sheffield traffic in I think Muswell's car, Dean Windass pulled alongside us in his X5. For some reason seeing that made it exponentially worse.

It was really absolutely horrendous. I think we got the train back. Beating them in the play-offs of our promotion season brought me to tears, partly as joy of reaching Wembley, but as much for putting that horrible memory to bed.

I was in a particularly ropey flat roofed dodgy 'estate pub' pub in Crawley with a Palace fan.

It was every bit as horrendous as it sounds.

The second leg at the WFCG was incredibly cathartic, watching that tool Heckingbottom losing his shit and Djed just laughing at him.

Djed was already a pretty cool guy, but that incident on the touchline with Heckingbottom elevated him to James Dean levels of coolness.

Weird to think Gibbs-White was playing for them in that game, now.

All of this Blunts play off chatter led me to look up the lunatic to see how doing these days. Still at Rennes in case you were wondering.

And Phillipe Montanier is at Saint-Étienne. The Ligue 2 club, not the band. Which has nothing at all to do with Forest v Blunts in the promotion season. Obviously.

He's only been at Rennes for 1 season. I didn't realise he'd only had one full season in a team before he signed for us. Yeah, he wasn't the most reliable, but that's still some impressive scouting.

Is there a clip of this anywhere? I don’t think I saw it (can’t remember)?

Everyone has something to play for Spurs. 19 other Premier League clubs want to see them relegated.

They're not really in danger, but Leeds' win pushes Newcastle into 15th and they're 8 points ahead of Spurs with even worse form - they've gone W1 D0 L5 from their last 6 Prem games. They have Brighton tomorrow followed by us at the WFCG and then West Ham, it's not inconceivable they could lose all of those and things could get a little closer than they'd like.

The idea of Newcastle getting dragged in is funny, but it would mean Spurs and West Ham hitting a run of form that really puts pressure on us, and our run-in is pretty stressful anyway.

The only way Newcastle get dragged in is if we beat them next weekend, which would put us on 42. One win from the other 3 and we would be virtually guaranteed safety.

I'd much rather Spurs just shit the bed and go down though.
