I believe it's a rhetorical device, using hyperbole. In the spirit that it might as well be true, if they are going to repeatedly make idiotic interpretations of the laws, that are contrary to the spirit and experience of actions in a football game.

If you have suddenly become an adherent to the literal, we are going to have a lot of fun.

James Maddison is a wonderful player. I mean he always was, but it's perhaps a little easier to acknowledge now he doesn't wear that stupid blue Lestoh shirt.

Apparently no one has offered the Glazers as much as they want for Man U, so they're taking it back off the market.

Carry this on and they'll be having a rivalry with Derby next season.

Liverpool's third goal puts us up to 8th.

..... but Palace winning pushes us back down to 9th.

I guess they think they are Juventus…

Is Pogpa coming back on a free?

    Chicago: Arsey.

They really do look shit, and I don't just mean their outfits.

We really should have got something against them, with a two goal head start.

    Well yes but the refs….

Chicago: Still banging on about it.

Oh look scum Utd get another decision.

Was that a clear and obvious error? No.

    Decision should have stood.

Chicago: Watching the big club bias.

Except they’re both ‘big clubs’ so surely that argument cancels itself out?

Anyway, personally I think this is one that VAR got right and is exactly the reason it was introduced in the first place.

Well fuck me. A VAR make up call. He was onside. They used the angle view. (Kind of like MGW versus Palarse) No fucking way was that off.

What an absolute mare VAR is.

    Can we can this shit.

    Chicago: Laughing wildly.

Didn’t matter Arsenal scored 2 in the 1000th minute.

    Chicago: Highly entertained.

Thought that game was an example of VAR working well for once. The penalty decision looked right at first glance but the replay clearly showed that Havertz initiated the contact - exactly the scenario we were talking about earlier. And the offside was tight so checked - not sure why you think you have access to better angles than they do?
