Far too much interpretation. The guy was offside according to the Clough rule of if you're on the pitch you are interfering with play. That should be the end of it, but the rules on this, on hand ball and on everything else have changed to the point it's just make it up as you go along.

Also the goal in the first half that was disallowed for handball, I thought there was some mental rule that if it came off your body onto your hand it wasn't handball.
Edit; rules seem to be it is handball if you score from the contact.
