If it's that easy/meaningless to file the paperwork why didn't they do it?
If it's that easy/meaningless to file the paperwork why didn't they do it?
I've said it before, I don't celebrate what we've become. But in fairness to us, I don't like what the whole shit show has become much either.
It's not sport kids. It's accounting. And now admin and the big boys bringing in the lawyers to keep the proles down in the dirt.
Why haven't we complained about the manshitty charges passing another season without censure? Anything to do with their global influence state ownership and pots of money?
The whole thing stinks worse than shit.
I agree. Any form of morality went from football years ago. So fuck it might as well go all in and try and out cunt the rest.
I don't understand this. It's not like UEFA don't know about the problem, so it's not really snitching - it's us reminding them that there are other impacted stakeholders. I don't like us doing it, but snitch is a strange word to use.
Would whiny little bitch be better?
And all the Palace fans calling us cheats for breaking the rules of the competition are forgetting that we got punished for breaking the meaningless and arbitrary rules.
But I agree, I can't see what writing a letter does other than make us look a bit pathetic.
Not our first rodeo.
It's a thinly veiled threat that if they don't apply the rules properly we will all be going to the sport arbitration court and there's a danger the tournament won't start on time.
A slightly more refined bakery burning.
They should have done pretending like we did. If they face consequences for not doing so then so be it.
We still shouldn’t be twats about it though. ‘Shutting the Fuck Up’ is right there as an option.
You’re all assuming that Forest wrote to UEFA saying “snotfair; Pallis done bad so they should be suspended”, or words to that effect. Why would we do that? As Russ says, this issue has been being reported for well over a week already, so there would be no advantage whatsoever in Forest pointing out that Palace are breaking the rules.
On the other hand, if they wrote to UEFA seeking clarification (ideally soon, rather than at the end of June, as has been reported elsewhere), that would be entirely reasonable - they’re trying to assemble their first European squad in a generation, and the difference between Europa & Conference is significant in terms of budget & attractiveness to potential signings. Of course they want to know ASAP which comp it’s going to be.
“Forest are snitches” creates controversy & thus generates clicks. Job done for the journo, even if it makes little or no sense.
“Forest ask UEFA when they’re going to get their shit in one sock”… less so. But it’s probably what actually happened
That's plausible Brid. Hope you're right.
Equally plausible that Forest have sent a letter along the lines of "we'll be watching the outcome and reserve the right to take action if we don't feel the decision is fair". Which is putting pressure on UEFA to decide in our favour and against Palace.
There's an obvious missed opportunity for statement wars here.
Curse you @Brid and your measured, reasonable and objective observations.
Down with this sort of thing.
I prefer Brid's explanation, obviously, but it's telling that last season especially made the worst case scenario believable.
Or something between the two
