Supposedly Villa have that 40M option. Doesn't seem great value with those wages.

Rashford's a proven one-in-three Premier League striker across 300 top-flight appearances and with more than 60 England caps.
But at 27, he's at the peak of his powers (and pace) so you're investing in proven quality for a couple of seasons (injuries notwithstanding) with little resale value.
I can see why Villa might be tempted with Champions League cash behind them. That said, he's mostly played from the bench since joining from United, hasn't he?
Reportedly 15M per year.
I'd want a discount on the 40M before I signed up to that.
Aka the Grealish problem. He'd have his pick of teams were he not making 300K a week, as it is he probably either has to take a cut or go to Saudi.

Absolutely. I can see the merit, though, for a Champions League club and you'd think it's a deal United would be keen to discuss.
There's a very strong argument that leaving a rival saddled with a fifteen big ones one person wage bill, is much more valuable than any of the running around that Marcus Rashford might be able to do for you.
If it was me, it would be a firm thanks but no thanks, and swallow the loan fee.
Agreed. I like Rashford, and Grealish, but outside the 3 or 4 clubs with stratospheric commercial and merchandising revenues (and Villa aren't one of them) I don't see how those players can possibly justify that high a wage commitment. They're just not going to be able to deliver the on field performance that makes enough of a difference to justify it.

It’s only a problem for Man City though. That salary is only a limiting factor to him if he chooses to make it one. He’s very rich and will remain so whether he coasts out his contract or takes up trying to be a footballer again. Nice choice to have.
In least surprising news ever, spurts are over celebrating their Leyland daf win, while manure are sacking more dinner ladies.
To be fair to Spurs I'd expect us to do similar celebrations if we ever win something again.

Totally. And stuff what anyone else thinks. Which might well be that it's quite funny. Like banning professional broadcasters might well be thought pathetic mardy self defeating thought policing contrary to the standards and values our society stands for.
But what we think doesn't matter, does it? Things will happen to our stuff out of our control.
One man's professional broadcaster is another man's clout chasing rentaquote dickhead that the world is better off without. Pays your money, takes your choice.
The professional broadcaster is a matter of fact. It's not your job, nor that of anyone at Nottingham forest football club, to tell the broadcaster how their employees should do their job.
There is some merit in being less thin skinned.
It's not worth getting bent out of shape over. It happens in US sports all the time. It isn't the worst thing in the world to remind the media that the tail doesn't get to wag the dog.
And yet the Shih Tzu that is the paying public let's themselves get wagged all the time. Riddle me that.
Maybe start redressing that balance by not getting panties bunched about an irrelevant mouthpiece not getting treated like an untouchable deity.
