“Clear attempt to play the ball”. Yes, after he dragged Moore to the floor. I get managers defending their own players and being one-eyed but for anyone else to go along with this nonsense..

Agreed. I don't really understand what the fuss is about. As the last defender, if you let your attacker get the wrong side of you and drag him down when he's about to shoot, you can't really be surprised when the referee's sanction doesn't end at a penalty.
There seems to be a few on here allowing an understandable anti-Sheffield United bias to cloud their judgement. It's a penalty all day long and the player then has to go for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
You all seem to be missing the part where he actually gets the ball.

After he'd dragged Moore to the floor. Without that he'd have got nowhere near it.
You can't win the ball from there without committing a foul. Dickie was in trouble the second he allowed Moore to react quicker to Campbell's flicked header. Once he got ahead of him, he had to leave it to his goalkeeper and hope he saved it.
It's impossible to wrap your leg around and win the ball from directly behind your opponent. It's a penalty and a red card all day long.
Foul for me. I would make it a foul every time a players wraps around, in any way grabs hold of, or puts two hands on an opponent. You can use your strength, go shoulder to shoulder, or hold off, your man for me...but it's football, not wrestling.
Having committed a foul in that position, I can't see how it's not denying a goal-scoring opportunity.
Obviously I haven't read the current rules or anything, but wasn't there a double jeopardy thing where you don't get a penalty and a red card?

Only if you are making an attempt to play the ball which he clearly isn't during the foul
I'd say the worst officiating decision of the season so far in Orient v Stockport play off game.
That kind of offside is what VAR was brought in for (obv not in place in League 1) not the toenail offside shit we see each week.
Point at home for Southampton, giving them the magic 12th point. Ensuring that Dierby keep their record.

Just proves how gash Citeh are.. strangely Haaaland is back in the fold and they have gone back to not winning again.
We can catch them.
Chicago: miracle man.
Villa one-up at Bournemouth in first-half injury time.

This is an awful result if it remains. Fully expect them to win their final two after this.
Ramsey sent off (second yellow) - Villa down to 10 for the last few minutes.
That's a really really bad result for us. Villa are going to get 69 points now. So we've got to try and get above Newcastle AND Chelsea to make CL.
Turned over from Bayern's pedestrian 2-0 win in time to see Jebbison put himself rather than the ball in the net.
Fuck's sake, Jebbison.
