Yadda yadda. Yes of course. I'm very proud of them all. Well done lads. It'll be a great season. We've really competed above what we could have expected.

Doesn't take away that we had a CL place firmly in our grasp and we've fucked it.

    Not yet. Play the games.

Don't be daft. It was never 'firmly in our grasp'. The season is over 38 games, not 30. Our squad is tired and patched-up - it's astonishing we're still in with a shout going into the final four matches.

Try to enjoy it for what it is, Jim. I'm genuinely confused by what you're after - we should really be nowhere near the top five. That we are is fascinating and should be what we all follow football for. Don't be one of those entitled Forest knobheads who are all over social media at the moment using language like 'bottlers', etc.

Because I am a child, I would have been much happier this season if we'd meandered around mid table all year then surged to 7th place in the last few weeks of the season. It would have felt much better than falling to 7th place having been 3rd much of the year.

But that's the point. It's never been 'firmly in our grasp' because as posted elsewhere, we haven't got to the business end of the season until now.

With this relatively small, relatively tired, relatively inexperienced in competing at this über-elite level at this stage of the season squad. The 'big boys' have

Think of the recent cup run.

Pennos v Exeter. They could argue they had progression to the next round firmly in their grasp but fucked the penalties.

Truth is they were up against a much more elite level of opponent who were better trained, better physically conditioned, and more used that level of pressure in that moment and much less likely to 'fuck up' a penalty kick after 120 mins playing above their respective level. It's kind of the same thing.

It's unfortunate, but I can't get too upset too be honest. 7th, or even 8th and a Thursday night tropthy cup adventure against Dynamo Someoneorother and the like isn't too shabby, relatively speaking.

Understood, but then we could easily have been West Ham this season or, even worse, Leicester.

Everything is stacked against clubs our size troubling the Champions League places. Everything. It's been great fun this season watching Forest consistently bloody the noses of sides they shouldn't be. Enjoy it while it lasts.

Liverpoo choosing today to have their worst performance of the season. We really don’t have any luck do we?

    Chicago: A bit depressed.

Shady = the new Donny… FFS go and have a word with yourself. Or is it more a case that you can only be happy if you’re miserable.

It was inevitable at some point. I’m getting very confused as to the connotations. 3 more points guarantees us at least 7th, correct? I’m thinking 9 more points for top 5. Likely we won’t get that on current form.

If Chelsea win the conference league *and qualify for champs league, does their Europa place get added to the pot? I think I read somewhere that it doesn’t? So for 7th to get Europa League, we are city fans in the FA Cup?

Pinch yourselves. European football could be on the cards.

Three wins and a draw guarantees top 5. No, me neither. Hard to see three wins without a draw failing, as that would take every result to go against us but obviously beating Chelsea ourselves would be a massive swing in our favour - if we win that one, there's a good chance that beating leicester and getting a draw from one of the away games could do it.

Europa/CL qualification through European competition doesn't add a place, so Chelsea winning the conference makes no difference.

Three more points guarantees some form of European football. And that's Europa if city win the cup.

Is European football a good or bad thing for us?

I like the idea of it, but fear the harm it may do to our league form.

Quansah - own goal and penalty conceded. Thanks Slot for picking him over Konate.
Meanwhile Leverkusen only draw, so Harry Kane can finally make use of that trophy cabinet voucher his wife gave him years ago.

Even if we aren't in Europe next year, our chance of qualifying through the league is slim. And our chance of getting relegated is even slimmer, so bring it on.
