It really was. I like Mateta for us.
I would also be very happy if Hendo came back.
Agreed. When I look at current number nines, excepting haaland, Mateta is the one that looks the complete package. Skill, speed, and physicality. Absolutely lovely "fuck off kid" and dink, for the goal last night.
Although the finances of 'ship football mean that we probably can't afford to make it happen, even if he wanted to come, and we will not be the only ones who have noticed.

Vardy confirmed as leaving.
"I've always wanted to empty the bins at Forest".
It's going to be horrible for the next few weeks in leicester.
FTFY
Unless it's his decision, seems weird to announce it before they've decided who next year's manager is.
Football speak: They haven't offered me a contract, or at least not one I would accept. I'm out of this shitshow, and want to shake whatever interest I can out of the tree as soon as possible.
Babelfish says: As-salamu ’alaykum. Here I am!
Mrs Vardy's lawyers don't come cheap.
Not when she keeps losing.
How noble of her husband’s team to show such solidarity by losing every time as well. Harmony in the Vardy house. Result.
I have absolutely no skin in that game, but Coleen Rooney has always come across significantly better than Rebekah Vardy, who appears to be every bit as odious as her husband.
Shame Everton didn't defend like this against us.
As each week goes by the number of points we're going to need seems to get bigger. There was talk of 66 points being enough, but it's looking more like 68+ now. If not more?
Think you have to allow for Villa winning their last four. That puts them on 69 but probably with a worse GD still. You’d hope Chelsea lose their next two (Liverpool home, albeit they’ll have won the league by then, and Newcastle away), which means they come to us on 63. Newcastle can currently get to 74 but you’d hope they’d lose some points at Brighton and Arsenal. (I’m not looking at City because I think they’re almost certain to win the next three league games.)
Which is a long winded way of saying we are looking at winning three out of five (all of which we’re probably favourites in).
We are the right end of the table this year, you have to think the teams around you are going to mostly win and you’ll need to take it, not have it given to you.
