The fan exodus has started.
Pass me another can....
They aren't going to get a new manager just before we play them are they?
I suspect they've spent all the 'new manager' money they are going to spend this season.
James, you really do appear to be getting yourself quite in a tizzy. It's all going to be ok love, take a deep breath and relax.
It's been 12 hours since they last scored now
Its been 7 hours and 15 days...plus several more of both.
First team in Premier League history to lose 8 on the bounce without scoring.
I guess we should be glad Newcastle didn't score a hatful. Our GD is still 1 better than theirs.
Without Cooper, they’d be with Southampton, threatening that Derby record.
RVN is a very likeable man, who handles the press well. If they'd have brought him in as a smokescreen for the fans, and left SSC doing the actual job, they might have had something.
As opposed to absolutely nothing*.
* results, goals.
Sister Rave the Fester season ticket holder dropped in on the way down to the game today. I like my sister so I don't gloat. But I had to ask her if she remembered what to do to celebrate a goal. Not that it would matter. Anyway, she reminded me that Fester have played Man Ure 4 times this season. Man U have won all 4. RVN managed Man U for the first 2 and Leicester for the second 2. That surely must be unique.
Nothing compares...to Ruud...
If I was to indulge in faux hindsight based analysis, I could see how that happens. Aside the obvious manure and leicester squad attributes. RVN is a nice guy. He looks like players would like him, and he seems to set teams up in a conventional shape, and just get them to play. Which would work to an average level for manure. Which would be enough. Leicester are deeply shit, as a squad*, and look like they need a structure to minimise their weaknesses, and a plan to amplify areas that they can exploit. Which he doesn't seem to have in his locker.
* I look at their team, and in every position there's a reason I can't rely on every player. Whether it's lack of reading the game, positionally, lack of speed, not keeping the right distances, not making the right runs, not making the right choices, missing passes, touches, and getting run over. Not a single player who looks solid. Partly because there's a clear lack of belief, and partly because there's good reason not to believe in themselves.
Even so, surely no one has been manager / caretaker / head coach for the same 4 fixtures in one season doing 2 for each side?
I don't know if I'm seeing what you are in van Nistelrooy, but I suspect the fact that he wasn't allowed to bring his own staff with him didn't help much. I completely agree with your take on their squad though, there isn't a single player in their best XI that would make ours; El Khannouss might make the bench ahead of Sosa or Moreira, but that's about it.
Leicester v Southampton on May 3rd could be a huge game. They'll almost certainly be down by then and I don't see them living up to the old trope of relegated teams playing better with the pressure off, because they already look like they're playing to avoid injury and get to the summer so they can find somewhere else to play. It's clearly Southampton's best chance of not inheriting Derby's record.
