He's been doing the same thing he did with us - attempt to sit back and soak up the pressure, don't press, and hope you can hold out and score on the break. I'm not saying that that's the wrong thing to do with the players he had at his disposal in both Premier League stints, but it's not very fun to watch and when he started with negative amounts of goodwill it was always going to be tough sledding.

It was clearly a bad appointment for Leicester, but keeping him longer would just be sunk cost fallacy.

They're not terrible, but Man U are giving them so much space around the box. I'd like to think that we'll be rather more aggressive than United have been.

Ipswidge have got some excellent players but a poor squad. Yes, we should win, but no room for complacency, and two outclassed defeats should avoid that.

Think Daka will be ahead of Ayew, if not Vardy. Although he's crap as well.

Our problem next week is it's another game our fans will expect to win, which means no atmosphere unless we go ahead.

Hutchinson and Delap, in particular, look very good players for Ipswich. Need to keep a close eye on those two next week.

20M and 15M. I wouldn't say they were exactly bargains, but they look to be decent value. Delap especially since he matches the profile I wanted us to be shopping for.

TBF we have been shopping for that profile - Morgan, Omobamidele, Neco and Anderson all fit the mold of young, highly rated domestic talent. Then we've augmented with young international talent like Murillo, Danilo, Sosa and Elanga. I have very few complaints with our recruitment strategy.

I meant specifically this summer for a striker. Overall our recruitment has been effective apart from that first window.

I'm expecting a moderately busy January window - I presume that at least a couple of players (specifically Toffolo and Dennis) will move on looking for regular football and free up spaces in the 25, and the good start to the season will perhaps encourage the hierarchy that a big signing or two could help us push for a European slot. Also, for the first time in January they should be able to talk to targets about ambitions versus plans to avoid relegation.

Ipswich very much ran out of steam in the second half. Still a decent point if they can hold on, but their first and second half performances have been very different.

Maybe a Moreira-type left back prospect, but definitely a striker, because, well...

Chris Wilder, Dean Windass and a few other ex footballers who I'm frankly struggling to recognise but definitely have that vibe are in the same pub as me. They just loosely watched the Man U game.

Windass has recently been complaining that he can't get a job in football. I wonder what sort of role he was looking for? Ham and cheese?

    Sorry, couldn't resist.

I've written on here before that Delap is quite a player in my view. Reminds me of Stan in some ways. We will need to watch him next week and then buy him when Ipswich get relegated.

Like him. Big lad. Get's about. Tumps it.

Quite sad how forlorn and out of rhythm T has looked this year. Wonder how Keinan is doing?
