They are in the process of selling Onana to Villa for £50m, so they aren't spending out of debt, at least. Branthwaite is very sellable as well, if they really need to raise funds.

They are technically spending out of debt, aren't they? They needed loans to cover running costs last season, so the current account, at least, is overdrawn...
Anyway, it's all a grotesque mess with loans from a company under investigation for fraud and the parent company also being dragged into the mess. I wonder why shareholders in an insurance company didn't question the lending of £200m to a football club in another country?

It's a complete shit show - you wonder who would buy them with that amount of debt? Only really a rich nation state I would think - who's left? Qatar? Kuwait?

Man Utd’s £50m+ for a young defender just got spunked on that French lad, so that’s one bidder out.

Chelsea will probably buy him, they buy everyone else.

If they buy him, then they probably won't buy Murillo, so I'll take that.

Would be a result. Hopefully Murillo don’t get cob on.

    Fishcakes stopped play!

All clubs should use local foodstuffs in anti-VAR protests. I look forward to the Great Cob Wars of 2024-2025.

They must be good if they can afford to play Jimmy Greaves as a centre half.

Having no idea who most of them are, I could really do with a troll who's never seen them play, expound their attributes at length, based on nothing more than non-contextualised numbers and not liking players we actually have already seen play.

I like that if it wasn't for Muric and Hutchison I wouldn't know which end of the pitch was which.

Had similar conversation at lunch today about Ipswich fan who'd posted his bottom 3 with us bottom and them 14th or something.

When asked why Forest bottom he said we'd won 4 from 18 at end of season.

It was then pointed out to him that would be c9 wins for the season which will likely keep you up and Ipswich should be targeting something like that record.

I just think it is v hard to comprehend just how many games a team will lose in the Prem, especially when like Ipswich they've had double promotion losing hardly any along the way.

It's a football fan in general problem. Not just an ipswidge problem. A seeming majority of our fans were saying similar things when we got promoted and didn't even own a functioning first team.

Oh definitely, not picking on Ipswich other than them being the latest example.

Ipswich now = Burnley a year ago. Too many people who should know better beating themselves into a frenzy about how wonderful McKenna is (cf Kompany a year ago) & what wonderful football they played in the Championship. Which might all be true, but takes no account of the huge gulf in quality once you get to the ‘Ship. Especially when significant portions of your squad were playing for you in League One.

So Ipswich can console themselves in relegation when McKenna is announced as the new manager of Atletico Madrid or whatever.
