    You do you.

This is a proper shitshow. I’ve been doing this for 50 years and I have sat through a lot of dross. I think Im entitled know when I think we are fucked.

And don’t call me a toddler

Give me one reason why Angie was a suitable appointment to begin with. That's the issue. Everyone could see it was a bad appointment from day 1 and there's been nothing to change anyone's opinion on that. Marinakis has fucked up. When you fuck up, the best thing to do is to change that decision as quickly as you can.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 10:22 p.m.

Preferably don't make obvious fuck ups in the first place. Speaking as someone who absolutely didn't want the club to take this path, and absolutely had no confidence in the chosen helmsman, having taken this course you have to give it a fair chance.

It's not going to work though, and this is Marinakis. He leaves after the Newcastle pounding.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 10:43 p.m.

Yeah, this. It's Maranakis's first major fuck up and he's still firmly in the credit column with me even after this, but as the mantra goes in the tech development sector - fail fast.

I don't ever a game where the home fans snag you're getting sacked on the morning to their own manager with a real venom.

Sadly I was one of them.

    Has he gone yet?

  • 2 Oct 2025, 10:50 p.m.

I don’t think he was a suitable appointment.

I’d still stick. None of those games are ones you’d expect to win, whoever's in charge.

To be clear, I didn’t want Ange in the first place and I still don’t think he’s the answer but chucking him out after a handful of games is barmy (and expensive).

  • 2 Oct 2025, 10:54 p.m.

So you're the champion of the stubborn.

"I know the decision was wrong, but I'm not one for changing."

When you've taken a wrong turn, are you the type of guy who carries on, because turning around would be admitting you'd got it wrong, and you never know this road might just get us to where we want to be?

  • 2 Oct 2025, 10:55 p.m.

You'd expect to win Swansea, Sunderland and MidgetLand though.

Lose those three, as we're very likely to do, and we'll be in the relegation zone and he'll have failed to win any of his first 10 games in charge, with only 2 draws. That's really dire.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:03 p.m.

Some wag on Facebook has suggested WALTZING MIDTJYLLAND as tomorrow's headline and I'll be annoyed if it isn't.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:06 p.m.

There's a temptation for fans to believe that there's some magic point at which you can go hung ho enough that it's a game changer. Ange has been lucky to luck into jobs recently that made that seem possible (eg Celtic - only one team to beat). Until it wasn't.

The sad truth is that was always bollocks. You can get away with occasionally turning over teams where things go your way, but on the long haul you have to be good without the ball, and not just continually roll the dice and hope to come up with a six every time. It's why the arse have evolved from open attractive expressive losers, to controlled, managed, organised, genuine contenders.

There were always your attractive, eye pleasing, fancy Dan teams. They were hardly ever the ones who won much.... And you are up against strong, fit, elite athletic teams, organised and intelligent. Coaches run them, and you, to find a physical, attritional, advantage. And they go to great lengths to set traps for you.

The deck is highly weighted against you, if you set traps for yourself, saving the opposition a job. Over time that will inevitably attrition out to underperformance. But it might look easy on the eye, and Russ might be happy that you are going for it.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:06 p.m.

That was not worth 70 quid.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:23 p.m.

I don't think there is any chance of Marinakis sacking him for a few weeks, even with his track record of being a bit trigger happy. I won't cry if he does though. But I reckon it'll be December ish.

So disappointing. And I sat next to a bloke who properly stunk tonight.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:25 p.m.

At least you got a proper English fan, not one of those football tourists.

    ---edit---

    Was it Ebby?

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:30 p.m.

I agree that the fit is bad and that it is only going to end one way.

Saying he's a bad manager is just lazy. Bad managers don't win the Europa League, or have the record he has at a number of different clubs. He's a good manager in absolutely the wrong situation for the way he does things. It needs to end quickly, for him and for the club.

We still haven't won a game since I left the UK.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:37 p.m.

    It’s a fucking mess.

It was such a bad appointment and everyone could see it. Apart from those deciding.

It’s a case of when not if sacked so just get on with it.

But the really annoying thing is 6 games ago we were an attractive proposition for many, now we are not.

  • 2 Oct 2025, 11:52 p.m.

    Sean Dyche it is then.
