Your footballers with links to music, or musicians with links to football.

..I'll kick off with a pair from our parish.

Did the bloke from Kasabian who scored the volley on Soccer AM play for Leicester? He might have done.

Julio Iglesias played for Real Madrid, and I think Rod Stewart was on schoolboy books with one of the London clubs.

John Barnes briefly interrupted his career as a rapper to play professional football.

    That's all I've got.

That volley bloke, subject to confirmation, might be featuring in that first podcast with a bloke who liked to convert wingers. What a punk. So yeah, he's in this category for sure.

Arsenal defender and captain for England’s 2022 Euros win, Leah Williamson, is appearing on piano with the BBC Concert Orchestra for a tv thing this month.

Gareth Ainsworth of course was recently in the news for saying something like he was a musician who used football to pay the bills. Until of course football stopped paying the bills.

Loads of musicians were "Once on the books of.."

But of the high profile links to the game musicians (not just being a famous 'fan').

Ummm.. Elton John being Wat For Chairman?
Michael Jackson being a statue at (snigger) Fulham?

On the flip side... Sir Psycho in that Stranglers video....

He was actually on the books of Forest.

He claims he used to wear his Leicester socks underneath, but I think he’s made that up.

Wasn't Pope John Paul II a goalkeeper?
Bradley Walsh (has released a couple of crooning albums) was at Brentford.
John Burns went into financial management, but played guitar (and maybe sang) in The Establishment for a few years.
Nicky Byrne was a youth keeper at dirtyleeds

If it adds anything I normally tell people I've introduced to Tricky that he used to play the symbols in B*Witched, when he toddles off to the bar.
