Same. Had a season ticket for 40 years, and not shat once. And long may it continue.

It's more of an issue for the ladies I think.

(1979s mode: women at football, worlds gone mad etc)

LHR to AMS this evening, followed by train from AMS to Amersfoort. Made decision to not stay in Utrecht as it'll be full of Dutch yobs looking for trouble. We are being forced to get organised coaches from the "fan zone" in Utrecht to the ground tomorrow night as there will be no entry any other way. Of all the trips, it's probably the one I'm least looking forward to as Dutch fans generally seem to live in the 70s and 80s. There are those who think this is a good thing, but I'm determinedly not one of them.
Graz was a delight in an orderly, Nazi sort of way, and Seville was great up until trying to get into the stadium and being penned in by temperamental police horses.

I’ll be there on Friday after everything died down.

Utrecht is a great city and very friendly, but the last time I was there the cops had the Centraal Station on lockdown due to some rival fans kicking off. Lots of dogs and the sort.

On the 07:30 LNER into KX again.

Shady forecast is undetermined at this time due to it being quite busy.

If I note any sort of seat ruckus hullaballoo featuring hipster looking wrong uns being all indignant, I'll report back.

    That is all.

    UPDATE: SEAT DISPUTE AT PETERBUGGER!
    Disappointingly quickly resolved, however.

Apparently, the western section of the M25 and the M5/M6 junction are going to be really busy as the "super, mega, biggest ever Xmas getaway begins". No shit Sherlock; have they ever driven on a normal Friday? Always worse than the Christmas getaway.

My journey back was happily facilitated by late trains that I would not otherwise have been able to catch

Stayed at a friend's house in Tooting last night after the game. Booked the 7:45 train home as Mrs Shady is working today and I need to look after Little Miss Shady. Should have been home about 10:15 or so, but of course the trains are fucked, and I'm now on my 4th train via Doncaster, Wakefield Westgate, Wakefield Kirkgate and perhaps, maybe, Sheffield.

Jim, you live up north now, just get a fucking car, like a grown up, and stop being a tithead.

Going to and from London for work it wouldn't help much tbh. It might be marginally cheaper but it certainly would take longer.

If you'd we parked or whatever it's called at northern tub stop you could have jumped in Bonnie Jim's Bang Bus at 8 and you'd have been home by 11 instead of touring of touring northern trains like a poorly attired Michael Portillo.

You aren’t factoring in how shit the motorways are though. I think the trick to not getting stuck or delayed is to not go anywhere.

One for the London TB members, I guess. How busy does the centre of town get on New Year's Eve during the day?

We're thinking of taking Little Miss BW down for a day out before she goes back to school, and it looks like we can get a cheapish hotel for December 30. We'd therefore be in London on the 31st daytime - we have no interest in sticking around for the midnight fireworks.

I'd imagine we'd be heading home early evening (7pm-8pm sort of time), but I'm thinking it must get pretty busy from late afternoon onwards? We can absolutely avoid the Embankment/Westminster area at that time, but would need to get a tube from somewhere like Baker Street to get back to the car.

New Year's Eve had mostly appealed because it looks like the best day of weather this coming week.
