Walked into a little brewery on an industrial estate on the north side of the stadium. Given this is a podunk town in the middle of nowhere and it's our U21s (U18s?) playing a nothing tournament in a 1300 seat stadium, being greeted as I walked in the door by a very loud "YOOOOU REDS!" from a table of 4 in Forest jerseys was fun. Locals seemed a little confused.

A few Forest shirts in the bleachers. Maybe 20 or so.

No Esapa Osong, but we got the first rendition of We Hate Derby in the first minute.

Forest take the lead with their first shot on goal on the 30 minute mark, tap in by Jaden Powell from 5 yards after the left back let the winger get past him to the byline and cut it back.

Best players in red so far are a centre half who reminds me of Chets and not just because he's wearing 5, and the number 10 who reminds me of Lewis O'Brien. Busy, decisive, always available.

It's noticeable as well that we're playing the same 4-2-3-1 that first XI plays, albeit less counterattacking. That may be in part due to the level of competition.

2-1 Forest. Our second was a penalty when the goalie got the ball stuck in his feet and he manhandled the striker to stop him scoring. It was the first good thing our 9 did all game, the second was blasting the penalty into the corner. Their came from our only defensive mistake all game, and the forward still had to beat a man before putting an excellent shot into the opposite corner.

The best player on the park by an absolute mile was our 10 in the attached picture. Don't know his name but he was seeing the game two leagues ahead of everyone else on the park. Would like to know who he is, if only so that when we sell him for 50M in a few years I can say I called it.
