Mundane travel thread

Have realised this morning that the bluetooth connection from my phone to my car doesn't just drop out "sometimes". For about the last month it has actually been happening consistently at, more or less, exactly the same place (the mini roundabout to turn in to or out of Waitrose, just past the level crossing in Newark).

When I drive home from work the DAB signal to my car dips out for a second just as I drive past the Miller Carter Steak House (formerly the 7 Mile Inn) on Mansfield Road/A60.

This only happens on the way home to Mansfield, not on the way there. Which is probably discrimination, or something. I’m not quite sure how I can get upset and smash some windows yet, but I’m working on it.

Bloody Russians.

What was that country club type thing just up / down the road from there? Kind of 80s looking place ?

I had a most bizarre birthday there in 2017 when we (company I worked for at the time) had a visit from 3 German engineers, over for a customer audit. Turned out it was one of thier birthdays as well and so they insisted we finished early to 'all celebrate together'. I have no idea how or why we went there (I think our Quality engineer guy sorted it).

Anyway, we were the only people there, and it was 'Steak and Lobster Night', so I went the full boss-hog while they got shitfaced amongst themselves on red wine and peach schnapps.

True story.

My younger lad got a selfie with the younger son from Outnumbered in a nightclub a few weeks back. They used to look quite similar and now they don't really.
