What part of the day has been made tremendously slower/worse by using the tram?

Probably the bit yet to come where he wanders aimlessly around Nottingham car parks for a while before remembering his vehicle’s in Beeston

The tram doesn't go to Keyworth or Ruddington.

I did put a question mark after it as I wasn't quite sure where we were to be honest. One sec, I'll look at a map and get back to you.

Edit: the tram stop was "Ruddington Lane". I incorrectly assumed it was in Ruddington.

Assuming you were then heading to the WFCG you would have later come down London Road. Quick heads up Mince, that's not actually in London.

Nottm 10K - so the Market Sq. Which DID use to be a market bizarrely.

The bit where it doesn't go from where I want to go from, nor directly to where I want to go to. Nor all the way to where I want to go with a disabled mother.

The affordable parking around the hospital has been defenestrated. The original plan was for me to go visit my mother in hospital. Because that would be around the rush hour I decided to leave my car my side of that. The transport complexity of which I would take on the chin. By the time I actually got there (one car ride to the park and ride in Clifton, two tram rides in different directions) she had been discharged and they ( perfectly reasonably ) wanted the bed back.

Because of other unavailability, and rush hour traffic, we elected to take the tram. Which didn't go near her house, but does at least go the other side of the traffic. So we had a break at beeston Spoonies (coffee), and got a taxi back to her house. Then I walked back to the tram, got a tram to town ( where I didn't want to go, and was flagging so decided on food ), then a tram to Clifton. Then drove home.

Almost as many car miles as if I'd just driven there, and many many hours.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure its great if it goes where you want, and are accompanied by people who can walk, but I'm not sure that this particular expedition is the poster boy for modern public transport.

Not to do with the travel, but hope Mum T is doing OK. Please give her best wishes.

Tricky's tale has sent shivers down my spine as I'm due to undertake a bus and tram journey tomorrow. Pray for me.

I would pray for those who annoy death. If I believed in prayer. Or believed in you, oh grim reaper of mortal souls, and annoying public servants.

Did you not realise these things when you embarked on your day?

I am at least now clear on your trials and tribulations.

No. Because when I set out, I had been led to believe that she would be in for 2/3 days.

Obviously you'd want some credit for the idea but as it wouldn't be a licensed operator how about Tricky's Fake Taxis?
