Different laws for each country but check local air taxes, if you want to leave the airport, they can add a lot extra costs to a short stopover.

Bold move relying on trains to get you anywhere you want to go on a timely basis.

There's 3 of us so you are welcome to make up the 4. Heading up 22nd, stay that night. Inverness on the 23rd and head home on the Sunday. All in £190 on trains.

I'm off the beer at the moment but there will be some drinking involved.

If you are keen I'll DM you the train times.

I'll chat to the boss. Got some annual leave to use before the end of March, so pretty tempted.

Can't believe that you all find being bitten by midges so appealing.

I've been led to beleive by family up there that if you go whilst it's still freezing bloody cold and horrible you don't get midggy'd.

Gammon's predictive text takes the o off Thurso. Mince turns up 2 days early.

Have experimented with public transport. Used the tram to get to QMC. Take my mother, who has just been discharged back to chilwell, and then back to my car to drive home. Except after three hours have given up and am in Spoonies in town having beer and sustenance. Wish i'd brought a tent. Could have a lie down.

This is not a day to day practical journey.

I'm pretty sure in spoonies if you tell them you're from an ex-mining town they'll let you kip on their pretty carpet, as long as you commit to a breakfast and a couple of 8am John Smiths.

Quorn nugetts and chips, subsidised by the losses of a brexshitting wanker, and reasonable bed and board?

    What's not to like!

I'm still a bit confused about this whole trip and I've read it 3 times. Where is your car parked? Aren't you going to need to get in it after you use the tram to get to wherever it's parked to then drive home? (but you've been drinking). What part of the day has been made tremendously slower/worse by using the tram?

Two weeks ago we used the tram to get into town from Keyworth. We parked at, I think, an industrial estate in Ruddington? Then used the tram to get to the market Square. It was very easy.

The tram doesn't go to Keyworth or Ruddington.
