Fairly sure this bloke that Reacher beat the shit out of is someone I knew up north.

It’s always the ones you most suspect. Utter cockwomble of a human being and (surprise, surprise) has a MAGA hat prominently displayed in the background of his video explaining the incident.

[Edit to add] Someone has since pointed out that in the video, as well as the Maga hat to one side of his head, there’s a Zulu poster on the other side. Given that he’s South African, this feels a bit too on the nose.

Had a team meeting with, and a chat after, to one of my totteningham supporting colleagues. Made a special effort to use phrases like 'going down', 'down and out' , and 'how low can you go', in a cynical attempt to affect their psychological wellbeing.

Booked my wedding venue today. End of September.

Currently filed under "things I didn't expect to be typing, ever" while idley musing over ironic music choices for the day.

    Suggestions welcome.

Not you though @Ingo We're not having Quo.

We got a band for the evening do at ours and I think it really made the night. Reccomended.

  • 30 Mar 2026, 1:59 p.m.

We're not really having a 'do' as such. Just a registry office ceromomy in front of 10 people then a meal somewhere.

I was all for just a 'you and 2 witnesses' thing for 60 odd quid and home in time for tea, personally as I'm a tight wad miserable cunt, but there we are.

i DJ'd at my own wedding for a bit. I didn't trust anyone else to do it.

Got it. Well Mrs Shady and I had this on for maybe 30-60 seconds before she entered the room and walked down the aisle if it's any inspiration. We nicked the ideat from someone else's wedding as we liked it so much.

First dance was a Swing dancing number which was suitable as we met dancing, but then to get everyone involved we put this on:

I'd get Bobbins to do it for you, his name backs up his claim and it sounds like you could use any additional numbers.

Does Mrs Sean mind having Sleaford Mods for her first dance?

  • 30 Mar 2026, 5:44 p.m.

Myself and the Mrs had been together for maybe 24 years and had 3 kids by the time we got round to it.
Registry office, 17 people including us and the kids.
Walked across the road to a really good pasta restaurant where we had 3 tables. Good pasta, good wine.
taxi back to the local where we had the back room and people could turn up if they could be bothered.
    Was fine

Wifey was out of town this weekend which was lovely as she managed to fuck up the calvin Plummers situation last week. PLUMBING! To the tune of 18K.

Sort of... Thinking she could fix it herself she refused the contractor's Calvin Plummer (PLUMBER! who would have cost $575. She then buggered everything up by trying to fix it herself Then she decided not to bite the bullet and accept defeat and call our bloke. She decided that local randos were the way to go because they were cheaper. What should have been a 1 to 2 hour job ended up being 2 and a half days. Also the said locals were there on a Sunday (which in Plummer PLUMBER talk is double time. Anyway the total bill was $2245 instead of the first quoted price by someone good. Then there were two more leaks.. Great!

So then the Contractor is over the next day to look at the bathroom which has a crappy 6 inch high bathtub that came with the house purchase (the builder refused to put in the tub we wanted and of course it is poo and the pipes are actually plastic and not copper), and in order to fix everything he has to rip out half the wall and the floor to get to the pipes and install a proper tub. Japanese soaking tub to you. We also have had a a leaking walk in shower door since we moved in and of couse that is not good for the foundations.. So we have to replace that as well.

All well and good. So wifey tells me how much everything is going to be $12800, for the one bathroom./. $2000 for the wall in shower work in the other bathroom (YEAH WE ARE FANCY!) and then on top of the pipes it was starting to get expensive.

I said, "oh when is this going to start? August?", thinking I can get an interest free credit card to pay for it all over the course of a year. The reply is,, "Nope, next Friday". I already paid a deposit of over $6000 deposit so we could get started. Errr, how the fuck am I going to pay for this in one go?"

Anyway, I was perplexed why the work needed to be done straight away. Turns out our contractor is very good and it was either next week or Christmas. Pity she didn't consult me so I could work out a payment plan with the bloke.

I called him and said"< any chance we can pay this over a while". He gave me 3 months with a 4% up charge on the card. Sweet!

Wives are expensive and this one may have good taste (she married me..) but fuck me she is a lot of dosh....

    Chicago: Working forever.

Decided to upgrade my 25.10 release of Budgie to the beta release of 26.04. On completion of the update, the GUI wouldn't run, So I ran sudo apt install ubuntu-desktop , resulting in a system that boots as Budgie but is just vanilla Ubuntu.

I've had worse upgrade experiences, especially to beta.
