The BBC have quoted the Lord Mayor of Birmingham as saying that the Ozzy Osbourne procession today “would be a chance for the city to pay its last respects to one of its greatest living legends”.

Good to see that it is not just our national politicians who are out of touch with what is happening in the real world.

There’s a new guy at work who’s a Leicester fan from Leicester. Seems like a nice lad.. but I’m still gonna put a tithe on his wages and send the money to St John’s Ambulance.

Told the youngest (3) that if he didn't go to bed, he wasn't going swimming tomorrow. He said I don't care so we listened to the song with that title and all was fine.

Missus been to Venice with her mates.

I was at home alone with our daughters so we went and paid for (another) dog.

Missus is home and is not happy about this. Not sure why… But so far it’s cost me £110 on steaks, a weekend trip to Bruges and a spotless house.

But I go and fetch the puppy tomorrow and my girls are over the moon, so this is a win.

Replaced the starter cord on my lawnmower, and adjusted the throttle linkage so that I don't have to run to keep up with it.

I'm assuming that's because old age is slowing you down, rather than the lawnmower having sped up.

We're having a team meeting in October in Ascot for some bloody reason. It was originally going to be Barcelona, then downgraded to Oxford, now Ascot. 25 people, some coming from as far as Sydney and Singapore. As the 'fun' one in the team I have been volunteered to sort out some activities for all of us on the Tuesday and Wednesday evenings. Just been googling. There is fuck all to do in Ascot apart from the obvious race course, which won't have anything on at that time. I'm tempted to suggest we all get the train back to London for the night! Bar that, I think it's going to have to be two pub crawls.

Have you considered having a welcome reception when everyone arrives, then getting on the train to Heathrow and flying to Barcelona as you should have done in the first place?

My last full week in my current job.

The 3 months notice have just flown by and suddenly as I'm sitting here wfh today (tea break, obvs), shit's suddenly got real and it all feels very strange, in a "Oh. This is really is actually happening then. Gulp." kind of a way.

Start my new role in just two weeks. I didn't really see this coming at the start of the year. Could also go in the 'big life stuff' I suppose, as only time will tell if it was the correct decision.

I feel a bit like MGW probably did. Still time for the CEO to get all EM on me suppose.*

    • not really.

EDIT: No idea why asterisks are masqueradeing as wanky bullet points.

I had a power cut during during a Skype interview once. I called them on my mobile to explain and we then resumed.

As it was now by candlelight, it was most intimate and at one point I think we almost got engaged.

True story. Except possibly that last bit.
