I have in excess of 15 email addresses that I monitor. for example there are five associated with this site (talkback, turnstile, ticket, tricky - two flavours). I pay for two email services (business, and recreational).

Gmail (and other types ) of accounts I use as disposable...if they get spammy, or too full, I move on. I have at least five archived email addresses (previous business addresses) no longer used because google withdrew the free tier of google apps/docs for those who had signed on to the original product.

Most of this email I do not read, but can refer to if I need to generate an email trail for 'something that happened'.

On the list is to self host a service like anonaddy so that I can have a unique per transaction email address.

I do not treat an email address as something that corresponds to me. I treat them as a toolbox, that I dip into for something that broadly fits when I need it. I mostly don't clean them, or put them away properly, and if they get bent I just chuck them back in the box in the event that they might one day be useful (or not).

Email, as used in the vast majority of cases, is not secure, and in no way uniquely identifies you (in the sense that it is easily spoofable). I would be hugely surprised if the vast majority of unencrypted email is not being read (or at least scanned) by multiple agencies.

When I was a kid, I was the loudest. I used to shout up the valley to the other kids to see if they were playing. Over quite a large distance. No, I didn't yodel. Email I treat a bit like that. You are shouting at someone, and they are shouting back...you have no idea who is also hearing. I therefore don't treat it as very precious.

My main take from that is I think you should definitely train as a yodeller and update us on your progress on here.

If I did delivery driving, the roads would be very much more dangerous places. At least in the very short time frame before I inevitably killed myself. And others.

Did my overdue expenses. All pretty straightforward apart from the increasingly aggravated conversation with the hotel who for some inexplicable reason choose to hire people to man the phones whose grasp of the English language is pretty tenuous, who don't understand how email addresses work, and who treat a request to send a copy of the bill from a previous stay like I've asked them to explain the finer details of rotating detonation rocket propulsion.

Only 14 unread in my main work account; that's very low by my standards. My other work account has 522, mostly notifications of JIRA updates which I completely ignore. My gmail account has 2756 unread, but to be fair, the account is nearly 20 years old so that's not too bad really.

Quite a few are for my doppleganger in the US. He currently has $243.54 outstanding on his AT&T account which is about to be suspended yet agin.

I have fitted a new washing machine. Out of necessity, rather than just for fun. On the first test wash I noticed that it was rocking as it turned the drum. Pausing the programme, tilting it back with one hand, and adjusting one of the front levelling feet, fixed the problem quickly and simply.

Restarted the talkback server to solve a problem, that it turned out I didn't have.

Just had to remove a snake from my neighbour's garage because she was scared.

If I have a snake in my garage, you may have to perform a similar service.

    Except that I don't have a garage.

The only snakes we have here are garter snakes, they're completely harmless. Poor thing was as scared as she was, I just had to pick him up and put him in the flower bed.

If you have a snake or two around you don't have mice.
