Not really mundane for him, Facebook tells me that @Sean has a wedding to plan.

    Congrats sir!

    Why thank you sir.

I'm not sure about the 'planning' bit but I'm very much in favour of the absolute minimalist approach...

A child is missing in the river where I used to swim after school as a child, where my daughter swam on Friday after school 10 days ago, and where a bunch of kids where my daughter goes to school went to swim after school today. Likely to be a child I've taught in the past few years. Just sat here hoping for some good news. Life can change so fast.

I'm taking no news as good news. There were drones, mountain rescue, police, fire and ambulances still there at midnight, but no news.

I've tried to say something about this...but they whole thing just fills me with dread and fear. With absolutely no skin in this specific game, I really hope for a good outcome.

It was an older man, body recovered.

    Body Recovered

Harsh to feel relief that they were older, though that's how it is.

They've named him. Lord David Lipsey. The Labour Lord who apparently came up with the phrases "winter of discontent" and "New Labour".

Bit like Sky don't acknowledge football pre Premier League, Sky News extending the principle somehow to other areas.

No, that's "the winter of our discontent".

The "winter of discontent" refers to the strikes and high inflation of the winter of Nottingham Forest's glorious first European Cup.

If you talk about the wither of discontent, most knowledgeable people would know you're talking about the happy days. But talk about the winter if our discontent and they'll think you're going to bang on about literature. Clearly two different phrases.
