I took my car to well known high street mechanics to get brakes checked as getting a squeely noise form one of them, they don't have the correct software to diagnose the callipers! I will have to take it back tomorrow when the 'Master Mechanic' will be there and he may be able to do it from his laptop.

Call me super cautious but that wouldn't do much to instill my confidence in their requisite competence to be fiddling about with something fairly integral to safe operation.

We had a purple princess (not a euphemism). It ran on 1:1 parts petrol and oil. We kept food in the car whenever we went anywhere, because impromptu picnics were regular. As a result of it ceasing to function. It were proper shite. We then had a New Rover 2600. That were shite too. The first car we had that actually could be relied on to work, was a mercedes benz...but that had equipment levels that would make a lutherian church blush.

You could get an obd2 bluetooth connector, and some (free available) software, and do it yourself.

I'd also need a ramp and pit to get underneath and a way to take the wheels off, l can see the disc is scored so would also need to learn how to replace that. I think I'd rather let the master do it seeing as I am rubbish at that sort of thing.

Cars were quality in those days.

You couldn't drive for an hour without seeing at least one broken down vehicle. Far more rare these days. Makes me wonder how the AA stay in business (it's insurance, presumably).

Or by getting everyone to pay for the breakdown cover they’ve always had, but not having to spend any money going out to do anything other than change the odd tyre in the middle of the A1.

Qualifiers for the World Seniors Snooker championship are being held at my local club this weekend. Was having a game with a friend and got chatting to the guy on the next table who turned out to have been Aaron Canavan, the champion in 2018. He was a surprise winner as a lot of the old pros take part (Jimmy White, Nigel Bond etc.)

Watched him playing some warm ups and it was wonderful to see someone so talented playing. Anyway, it turns out he's younger than me; apparently 40 makes you a senior...

Fell asleep on the sofa last night. Woke up at twenty to four.
Woke up this morning with an incredibly sore ear. I must've slept in a position that folded it over somehow.
Got up to find that Ludo kitten had attacked the bog roll holder and there was paper all over the bathroom floor.
Still, Forest won in the 93rd minute yesterday, so fuck it.

If you are looking for advice on fucking bog roll, you might want to consult RC....although he's probably more a sock type.

Still needs a bit of work.

As blues songs go, it started OK, but then kind of lost its identity.

You'll notice of the 3000 ladies I've danced with, it's only ones of a certain age and class that have made complaints!

Can't we? Send me a link to the post, via private, with a confirmation of the text, and I'll delete it. One day I might look at the permissions and see if I can offer it as an option. If it isn't already.

    Yeah it's kind of annoying.

I think the best workaround is just edit the post and replace with "....".
